Appearance: A nice looker, with a frothy ecru head that sits and stays upons the cloudy amber liquid beneath; nice lacing pattern, too
Smell: An herbal blend with caramel tones; subtle wood and fruity elements
Taste: The malt bill is caramel forward, with stone fruit and herbal elements kicking in by mid-palate; earthy hop flavors add bitterness and the yeast character is really out there, bringing bread and a bit of chalky/limey tartness (a touch of Brett, perhaps); the finish is a bit on the sweet side
Mouthfeel: Medium to full body with moderate carbonation
Overall: A lot of interesting things going on but I am not overly satisfied with the end result; the finish is a bit too sweet, given all the other things going on
Serving type: bottle
