750 ml bottle, corked and caged. No date, but purchased at the brewery 2 months ago

pours a dark copper color, clear. thick white head. great head retention, some lacing too. aroma of big woody notes, with some floral hops and some lightly toasted malt. similar taste, I definitely get the oak barrel, and finish is pretty dry and earthy. light bodied, higher carbonation. overall a unique beer, I like it.

Pours dark golden with minimal foamy head, slightly hazy. Big overripe peach aroma. Again, big peach flavor, has a nice sweetness to it, hops have faded. Carbonation enhances creamy mouthfeel. Cork from bottle says "Best By Nov 2015", so this is past its prime, but I like it. Overall an interesting beer. I did not notice and barrel presence, but the Belgian yeast does impart some esther flavors.

Pours a clear, golden brown, color with a fluffy white head that fades and leaves some cling to the glass and lacing upon the top. Smell is bourbon, light fruit maybe apple or peach, yeast, spice. Taste starts with a slight tart note, bourbon, vanilla, spices, a little crisp apple. Finish is a light bourbon flavor. Medium light body, finish is fairly clean. Nice little beer, a little pricey for the flavor but interesting and different.

L: Poured from a bottle to a tulip glass. Had an amber color and a cloudy consistency. There was an inch of foamy, very long-lasting head. Not much lacing, though.

S: A fair aroma of light fruit, oak, bourbon, and some yeast.

T: Tasted of a tinge of bourbon (not nearly enough), a bit of oak, some Belgian-style yeast, a few different fruits (apples, a little pear), and a light malt quality. The major problem with the flavor is that it's not aggressive enough with its ingredients; it needs to be pushed harder. Not terrible, but kind of wishy-washy.

F: A good amount of carbonation with a smooth finish. Medium-bodied.

O: This is an incredibly uneven beer with a few good characteristics that doesn't quite succeed. Could have been better.

This was poured into a sample glass shared during a two man bottle share, so I got enough pours of this. The appearance was a decent looking deep orange color with a thin white head that dissipated within less than about thirty seconds. There was barely any lacing. The smell started with a decent Bourbon barrel aroma that quickly left within less than about thirty seconds. The light hoppiness has a nice light fruity (apple to peach-like, light cranberry). There’s a light settling Belgian spice of sorts, but I can’t quite right place the actual spice itself. The taste took the previously mentioned flavors and added a slight sour element that was good to me and wasn’t overbearing. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium in body with not too much of sessionability about it as it just seemed like there was a just tad too much going on. Overall, decent Belgian Pale Strong ale that I may come back to.

Poured from a 750ml cork-and-cage bottle into a Belgian tulip glass after the bottle sat on the counter for a few minutes to warm just a tad. Pours a dark gold to light Amber color with little to no haziness. One inch head that dissipated quickly and left no lacing at all. Smell is small. So damp grassy aroma, maybe a sliiiiight touch of woody/oaky character, but not bourbon. Taste is pretty much the same. Damp leaves, a touch of Belgian yeast character, and just the slightest touch of bourbon, so little I probably wouldn't have noticed it, had the bottle not directly said it was aged. Feel is good, though, but not exciting. Medium body, slight warmth (not expected from just over 7% abv), and not too carbonated. Overall, pretty disappointed, but Blue Mountain (for me, at least) had been one disappointment after another. This is underwhelming with muddled flavors and nothing that sticks out in any good way. It won't be going down the drain, but it definitely won't be bought again.

Poured from a 500ml bottle into a speiglau barrel aged glass.

Look is a light Amber with a thick frothy head.

Aroma is sweet biscuit malt with a distinct bourbon note.

Taste is a slight dry pale sour with a clear bourbon note at the end.

Much better than I expected. Balanced and complex.
