Bomber, split with my wife, and poured into an Olde Hickory glass.
A: Poured black as night, but didn't appear that oil-like in terms of pouring viscosity. Slight mocha head that stuck around for a while.
S: Really not that potent... maybe so wet barley with a tinge of roast.
T: Some sweet, candy notes, not much bourbon, but quite good. The candy and barrel-aging washed over the potential "coffee ground" quality that I usually hate (ala. Bell's "Java Stout"). Really tasty.
M: Sweeter and more dessert-like than a lot of coffee brews on the market, a good bit of splotchy lacing, and milk chocolate staining of the palate.
O: Much more in the "Nestle's" realm in terms of chocolate than in the dark, bitter, Dagoba-esque one. Still, this was pretty tasty.

750 mL bottle from Hoptimus-Prime from the Summer School BIF! Poured into my BCBS snifter on Barrel Aged Day 2013
Appearance: Very typical of an imperial stout, jet black with a small mocha head that dissipates rather quickly to a thin head. Small amounts of lacing are left on the glass.
Nose: Surprising light amount of bourbon. Guess I'm just used to bigger BBA stouts because this one doesn't kill it on the nose.
Taste: Nice toasty oak and vanilla hints with a bourbon wrapping around them. Slight coffee and chocolate but not as prevalent as I was expecting. So very drinkable.
Mouthfeel: Certainly a bit thin for a BBA Stout
Overall: Something if you can grab off the shelf, I would. Akin to KBS and maybe a touch more drinkable. I have no issues finishing this bomber, as with KBS a 12 oz serving is plenty. If you see it, buy it.

750 mL bottle poured into a snifter.
Appearance - Black body. A few wisps on the surface. Chunky collar.
Smell - Raw coffee flavor. Very green and almost peppery. Chocolate. But coffee is dominant.
Taste - Extremely sharp coffee flavor. Same raw, green coffee. Still tastes like green peppers. I don't get much barrel out of this. Some chocolate though.
Mouthfeel - Medium high carbonation. Rough bitter coffee finish.
Overall - Eh. Very average and too much coffee. I have a regular version of this and I hope it doesn't have this offensive coffee flavor.

S: Potent mocha, with milk chocolate and roasty coffee.
L: Viscous, dark black, dark tan head that dissipates slightly.
T: Rich, chocolate-like malt with a mocha like sweetness. Medium low earthy bitterness with some warming bourbon following. Lots of chocolate sweetness fading to a coffee roastiness into the finish. Finishes fairly sweet with residual coffee.
M: Medium full body, medium low carbonation. Alcohol warming.
Pretty solid, really enjoyed the flavors, all worked well. Only critique is that the flavors weren't up to par with Speedway stout and other similar stouts.
