Pours a hazy amber gold. An inch of coarse off-white head dissipates slowly to a lacing.
Smells of bananas, mild strawberry, cloves, and light citrus.
Tastes of banana, light wheaty malts, and some citrus sweetness.
Medium body with light tingles of carbonation on the tongue.
Pretty good hefe, very good thirst quencher and goes down easy, there are much better hefes but this isn't bad and is worth trying.

Best by date of 3/2013. Purchased 4/2013. Heh.
Totally clear beer with very minimal head. The nose on this is great. Super hefe. The flavor profile follows along the same lines, but it drops off so quickly, that it really detracts. At least, with how nice it starts off as, I definitely want a whole lot more. It almost seems a bit watered down. Feel is good. This is definitely a pretty nice hefe. But the lasting power of the flavor profile should last longer.

A: two finger thick white head on a cloudy somewhat bright golden body.
S: fairly standard wheat, light coriander and mildly tart lemon flavor for the style with no off putting notes.
T: very nice degree of sweet lemon custard with only minimal noble hop like bitterness. The pale malts/wheat are understated a bit but for the style but still the body remains nicely full for the style.
M: medium body and moderate carbonation, a little dry in the finish.
Overall: very drinkable, about as good as I think the style gets perhaps. Another nice beer from the brewery.

A - Pours with one finger of white foam on top of a hazy, dark golden body. The head settles at a moderate lace and leaves decent lace.
S - A perfumy aroma of malt and yeast with a touch of spicy hops.
T - Thick malt and spicy hops up front. A touch of tart wheat in the middle with some clove and a finish of dense grain and herbal hop notes.
M - A moderately thick body, high than average carbonation, and a dry finish.
D - Not bad, this isn't really anything extraordinary, but it is reasoably well done and quite drinkable.

The beer is a yellow gold or pale orange depending on the light. It has a nearly pure white 5 finger head that recedes quickly leaving a bit of thick, foamy lace.
Banana predominates at first with some faint cloves. As the beer warms, a syrupy aroma appears followed by toasted malt.
Bananas again in the taste, but now, the clove presence is stronger. Midway through the beer a light tart citrus appears and the finish is a prolonged bitterness. In the end, the bitterness dissipates, and the tart citrus lingers.
Moderately light in body. Plenty of carbonation early on, almost fizzy at times. Smoothing out as the beer warms. Light syrup on the tongue.
A decent beer, though a bit light overall. Better for summertime consumption in my opinion. It seems weak after all the porters and BSDAs I've been drinking lately. I think the first reviewer meant to say "not even close to Weihenstephaner" and I would agree. Still, it was a pleasant diversion.
2/18/13--I sampled this again, and liked it much better. This time, instead of being predominately tart, more sweet citrus shined through, nicely complimenting the tart aspect. I'm knocking the taste up a notch from the previous 3.75. Definitely worth trying again.

Hazy orange pour, decent hefe head that settled to a thin ring toot sweet. This fast fading head is the only minus for this fine quaff.
Smells typically hefe, with a bit more banana than usual.
Tastes great, classic hefe flavor, clove and banana, a bit tilted toward the banana. Smooth mouthfeel.
Every bit as good as some of the German greats imho.
Tho $12.90 for a 1 pint 9.4 oz is too steep, nice to see the USA making a terrific Hefe Weizen.
