Pours hazy bright yellow with one inch head. Taste is lemon, tangerine, and herbal hops at the end. Above average Belgian IPA. Not a bad beer, but not sure if I would get this one again.

This is my first "Hommelbier". It is a basically a hopped up Belgian. Pours a beautiful, shiny, clear gold with a nice head and great, spidery lacing. Pour this one slowly, because I noticed that their is quite the coating of yeasty sediment at the bottom of the bottle. Do not shake or agitate before poring and you will be fine. Aroma is nice with touches of malt, hops, overripe citrus and a touch of yeasty bread, wow, a lot going on here !. Also, head is fizzy and white with lots of miniscule bubbles in it.. Taste is quite pleasant, with a great balance of malt, bread, citrus, bitter hops and a touch of barnyard hay. Mouthfeel is also nice and smooth, with the carbonation spreading the great flavors of a Belgian across your tongue, and then delivering a nice pop of hop bitterness. Light aftertaste and very refreshing and great to drink. No alcohol detected, to speak of...

On tap at the Barrel House on Thursday of the cancelled Lockn' shows. Nice and clean with a refreshing aftertaste. Dark tan/orange color. Some nose with great clean minor bite. Somewhat hoppy. My wife would drink this one.

A: The beer is hazy yellowish amber in color and has a light amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a two finger high off white head.
S: Light to moderate aromas of Belgian yeast and caramel malts are present in the nose; some hints of tropical fruits are present in the nose.
T: The taste generally follows the smell and has a little stronger flavors of tropical fruits. There is only a light amount of bitterness.
M: It feels medium-bodied and slightly crisp on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is easy to drink but doesn't have that much complexity imparted by the Belgian yeast.

Serving type: bottle.

Best by October 2015

I poured too hard and had to wait before filling my Duvel tulip, so I disturbed the yeast and got a translucent tropical golden orange in color with a 3 finger white head that turned chunky as it receded, and left thick patchy lacing. Scads of carbonation.

Belgian yeast and spice on the nose with green apple and pineapple. Ripe citrus that at times almost approaches the aroma of milk. Rather lemony with a bit of funk.

Moderate sweet malt at first swallow with lemon and bitter grapefruit peel following. A hints of tropical fruit, earthiness, and pine. Fairly tart in the end.

Crisp and somewhat numbing with a light syrupy/drying feel on the tongue and moderate warmth in the throat. Medium to medium full in body. Almost frothy at times.

I like some sweetness to my beer, and this doesn't disappoint, but overall the taste is a pleasing, tart/bitter. Well balanced and interesting. It has a little warmth, but still seems appropriate for a summer sampling.

Poured from a 750 cork and cage into a tulip, the beer is a gusher. Lots of pop in the cork, and a lot of carbonation in the body pushing a tall, frothy head over the top of this beer. The body is crystal clear and golden, with a steady flow of carbonation bubbling throughout. Aromas of floral hops, grassy notes, lemon pepper, toasted grains, subtle stone fruit notes, honey, and some caramel. Heavy on the herbal notes and peppery hops. Flavors are fruity forward, with a blend of stone fruit and citrus fruit, especially grapefruit and lemon. Hops bitter and spice follow, piney, grassy, and peppery. There are some subtle notes of Belgian funk, lemon pepper, and basil. Pretty layered and dynamic palate. The body is smooth, made effervescent by the increased carbonation. The aftertaste is more fruity esters, leaning towards the citrus, with a solid herbal presence. Slightly cloying, lingering fruit sweet finish.

From a bottle, pours a clear golden yellow with very active carbonation.

Nose is earthy, citrus, sweet pineapple, green apple and a little funk. Flavor is citrus, apple, some cracker and caramel malts. Dough and lemon zest on the finish. Overall, this is ok, but I wouldn't go out of my way to drink it.

750 ml bottle into tulip glass, best before 10/2015. Pours slightly hazy bright gold color with a 2 finger dense and fluffy white head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Dense foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of pineapple, tangerine, lemon, grapefruit, pear, apple, black pepper, floral, grass, light pine, candi sugar, bread, and floral/yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, citrus hops, and pale malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of pineapple, tangerine, lemon, grapefruit, pear, apple, black pepper, floral, grass, pine, candi sugar, bread, and floral/yeast earthiness. Good amount of peppery yeast spice/pine hop bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of pineapple, tangerine, lemon, grapefruit, pear, apple, black pepper, floral, grass, pine, candi sugar, bread, and floral/yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, citrus hop, and pale malt sweetness; with a very crisp malt/yeast/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium-high carbonation and medium bodied; with a very smooth, crisp, and fairly sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with only a slight warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very nice hoppy Belgian pale ale. All around nice complexity and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, citrus hops, and pale malt flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink for the ABV. A very enjoyable offering.

Pours copper with a very foamy thick off-white head. The belgian yeast is forefront in both the aroma and taste as well as fermented grapes. Unfortunately, I was not able to digest this beer, but I think it is solid for the style.
