Pale amber with a web of tan froth.
Floral and waxy lemon Cascade nose with some sour caramel.
Salted toffee, a big whack of crystal malt, and then pine sap, orange rind, and nectar hops.
Caramel comeback and bitter linger.
Light, slightly clingy, metallic.

A bit thin, the hops barely hold up, and it’s too strong to session. Still, I do believe the 60 IBUs, and it’s flavorful enough to hold your interest if you do stick with it. Works as a substitute for dull IPAs.

From BeerAdvocate magazine Issue #66 (July 2012):

LOOK: Hazed reddish copper, great lacing

SMELL: Toasted bread, citrus rind, mint, hay, caramel, spice, figs, yeast

TASTE: Very smooth, creamy, toasted bread, hop bitterness, buckwheat honey, earthy, orange rind, nutmeg, evergreen, faint alcohol warmth, dried plums, peppery, grainy, semi-bitter finish

An all-around solid and very well-balanced American Red Ale with that PNW trademark lien to hops. Organic as well, which seems to be no longer a trend but perhaps a life-choice for some. Thankfully for them, they have beers like this. Great job on this one!

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a medium to dark coppery amber with the appropriate red tint; fine one finger off-white head with great retention a lots of lacing. Aroma of biscuit, slightly bready malt, citrus and light pine hops, light spicy fruits. Flavor is nice biscuit and bready malt, light citrus and pine hops, citrus juice, grapefruit. Finishes with grapefruit and grassy hops. Medium bodied with decent carbonation in the mouth feel. A nicely balanced, fruit juicy red ale that is not that hop forward, but has a nice lingering citrus hop finish. Slightly sweet and a bit citrus forward, but well done.

Amber color from a can. Thick cap of foam that reduces down to a ring with some lacing.

The nose is on the lighter side and tends to be a bit more malty than hoppy. There is a nice little pine hop presence in there.

Malty, a little caramel, mild bitterness, pine needle, earthy and a little bit of toast and nuts. More of the pine in the finish.

Very soft and smooth feel. Drier finishing.

Good beer overall. Nice drinking red with a little boost in the hop department. I like that it's organic and convenient in a can.

Hopworks Urban Brewing 'Rise Up RED' a NW Red Ale @ 5.8% , served from a 650 ml bottle purchased for $9

A-pour is a dark amber with a good size off white head leaving a patchy lace along the stein

S-Cascade & Centennial hops

T-crisp & smooth tasting , with just a hint of bitterness at the end

MF-good carbonation , medium body

Ov-ok/good beer , bit pricey for a bomber
