Had this on 2014-01-01 in Columbia, PA
A - Mostly opaque dirty orange with a 1/4-finger off-white head and moderate lacing.
S - Fresh red grapefruit, pine, hop cone floral. A nice potpourri of hop aromas. It's not real strong but it is very pleasant.
T - Nice burst of orange citrus flesh and zest up front, light but balancing bread and caramel malt flavor, flavorful leafy-vegetal/tobacco. Finishes at first like an alcohol-infused orange candy drop but this quickly yields to significant but not overpowering bitterness. These flavors really work for me.
M - Thick body and light carbonation. Syrupy (not cloying), resinous, lightly prickly, substantial, coats-the-mouth in a great way.
O - I really enjoyed this holiday-gifted beer. Very satisfying and a great way to say hello to 2014. This is my favorite so far from this brewery.

22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, no bottle dating. Pours moderately hazy deep orange copper color with a 1 finger dense cream colored head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of mango, pineapple, peach, tangerine, grapefruit, orange peel, floral, grass, light pine, caramel, candi sugar, and floral earthiness. Very nice aromas with good complexity of hop notes with a balanced malt profile; and good strength. Taste of mango, pineapple, orange peel, tangerine, grapefruit, peach, floral, light pine, caramel, candi sugar, and floral earthiness. Light pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of citrus, tropical fruit, floral, light pine, caramel, candi sugar, and floral earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity of hop flavors; with a well balanced malt backbone and zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Light-medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a slick and lightly sticky mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a damn nice DIPA style. All around good balance and complexity of hop and malt flavors; and very smooth to sip on for the ABV. A very enjoyable offering.
