Bomber shared by Guy411 at a tasting.

Pours clear copper with a small white head.

Aroma is rough citrusy hops with some malt to balance, but mostly hop-forward. You can tell this one is from Oregon, as it's somewhat reminiscent of Ninkasi's IPAs in a way.

Flavor is more rough citrusy and earthy hops, grapefruit and orange, and just a touch of sweet malt.

Medium-bodied and mildly palate wrecking, but not nearly as much so as some of the badder IPAs out there.

Drinkability is above average. Overall this is a pretty good beer.

Bottle courtesy Guy411. Pours dark orange-gold with a wet off-white head. Aroma is pale/caramel malty with some dusty hops and a light citrus note. Flavor is low on hops due to the bottle's age, but you can tell that it was hoppy when fresh from the lingering solid bitterness. Even though this is made with PNW hops, the age gives it sort of an earthy, appley Fuggles character.

A big creamy off white head forms and remains atop this IPA. The head slowly settles, but has great structure and hangs thickly in place for quite some time. Soapy rings of lacing are everywhere. The beer is an orange/amber color that reminds me of a sunset. Good Looking beer.

Aroma is bright, fresh and even a bit sharp. Very floral and bright citrus. More lemon than grapefruit. A moment of light toasted malt aroma.

A bit more of a balanced flavor than the aroma let on. More of a malt background exists and there are some nice bread tones. Definitely a lot of fruit esters and some bright grapefruit flavors from the copious amount of hops used. The lingering hop bitterness mingles with some toasted malt notes and some light bread flavors. Interesting in that at 6% I can detect the alcohol more than some other stronger IPA's. Hop oils present in the lingering bitterness. Very nice.

Carbonation is very muted, medium bodied and somewhat oily on the tongue.

I enjoy this and it's just shy of being REALLY good.

Purchased at Belmont Station in Portland for $4.99. 22 ounce bottle poured into an Imperial pint glass. No abv info or bottling info is given, but this was just recently released.

A-Pours a semi-opaque amber with a really big off white head that has some great retention. It is quite dark and hazy for an IPA. A lot of lace is left in between sips.

S-Freshly squeezed grapefruit juice is the dominant aroma. It smells like it is a fresh hop beer and not a WC dry hopped monster IPA. As it warms it smells a little like bubblegum and some yeast becomes apparent.

T-Like the nose, freshly squeezed grapefruit is the predominant flavor. There is some biscuit malt that hits midpalate and on the back. The yeast is also apparent. In between sips grapefruit and biscuit malt linger. It has a tame, but nice, level of bitterness.

M-Creamy, smooth, and nicely carbonated. It falls on the medium spectrum. These guys really do well in this category.

D-This one takes some time to really enjoy. Once it opens up it is a really good beer, although I found it quite different than most IPAs.

Glad I got to try this one as it is a special release and isn't going to get much fresher. I prefer their Organic IPA and Red, but this one was unique and very fresh.

Picked up a quarter barrel for my home system last weekend. Pours a golden-amber color, topped by a finger's worth of creamy, off-white head. Aroma of sweet biscuity malt, a mildly fruity hop profile, and a hint of a dry yeast character. Palate is well-balanced between mildly sweet biscuit malt, grapefruity hops, and notes of apricot and a touch of grass. Body is mellow and full, not sticky but not thin either. A highly drinkable IPA that may not be the hoppiest around, but is quite nice. Another great offering from Hopworks.

On tap at HUB 10/2 poured into pint glass.

Amber brew with one finger white head, quick dissipation. Cascade and Crystal fresh hop brew. Flowery and spicy hops in nose balanced by bready malts. Tangy hoppy mouthfeel with sweet malt providing a fairly complex attack on tastebuds. A bit bitter upfront, fruity in the middle with a fairly soft and smooth finish. Alcohol well hidden, enhances drinkability, though bitterness may put off the non-hopheads. A pretty complex fresh hop offering that takes some getting used to, but a quality brew nonetheless. Not my favorite HUB product, but worth checking out.
