Enjoyed out of a 22 oz brown bomber that is sealed with baby blue wax. Fancy. No bottling date that I can find, but I'm pretty sure this is the seasonal 2013 release, so it's sometime in the past few months. Poured into a large 22 oz snifter style glass.

Appearance - Body is golden apricot colored, with frothy foam that isn't very dense. Color is pale white and it dissipates to a rim of bubbles with a mottling of foam across the surface. Lacing is light and fleeting.

Smell - Big floral hoppiness blended with fruity yeasty elements and some lemon zest as well. As it warms, it becomes a little bit out of balance, with alcoholic esters showing through.

Taste - Light but very present bitterness up front, like young garden greens. As with the the nose, the taste has a fairly strong with floral and white fruits and spices. Though the flavor profiles are very much present, everything has a bit of a lightness to it, like it could be a bit more rich.

Mouthfeel - Light bodied and light carbonation. Effervescent and with a dry finish.

Overall, a pretty tasty example of the style. Nothing mind-blowing or palate-changing, but a beer I'd certainly drink again if it became readily available to me. My first sampling of Hopworks, and while it's not one of their more well-known beers, it certainly has me excited to try some more. The fact that it's carbon-neutral is pretty cool too.

Poured into a Gulden Draak tulip. Pours a light golden amber with nice streamers of carbonation. Health two finger white head with good retention and lacing. Aroma of piney and citrus hops, cardamom and faint Belgian yeast and sweet malt. Flavor of muted, lightly floral hops, Belgian yeast and spicing and citrus, mainly lemon. Light to medium bodied. A nice balance of hoppy american pale ale with a Belgian presence, but flavors are fairly attenuated. I liked this, but would prefer a bit more boldness in the good flavors that are here.

22oz bottle into a tulip. Pours a crystal-clear golden color w/ a bright white sudsy head.

Aroma is herbal/floral and yeasty w/ a vague musty, damp basement smell.

Taste is pale biscuity malt, musty Belgian yeast, old world hops. Some lemony notes and spice. Definitely a hoppy approach to a Belgian pale, but not Belgian IPA territory.

Mouthfeel is a little thin, flat, watery for the style. Still, light and crisp. Carbonation level is appropriate.

Overall, a worthy effort but I think Hopworks has some work to do dialing in the yeast strain. Something was just a little off here.
