Served in a tulip glass poured from a bomber direct from Coast.
A: Dark yellow but not quite golden, hazy, with a thick creamy white head. Amazing retention. Head remained for 5+ minutes till I hit the bottom of the glass.
S: Balance is apparent in nose. Lets you know there is something different about this IPA. Citrusy and floral hops meets malty sweet smell.
T: Has to be the most balanced IPA I have put to my lips. Yes it is hoppy but the malts are step forward to make an amazing malt-sweetened balance. Hops are primarily floral with a tiny hint of pine on the back.
M: Medium to heavy body, especially so for the IPA style.
O: Very different for an IPA. Not overwhelmed by hops but rather very good balance. Lots of other "IPA"s I prefer more, but have not had one with the same character as HopArt. I would say it is in a class of its own. I will certainly return to this beer.

Appearance: Hazy, golden-orange color with one finger of head that fades slowly with thick lacing.
Aroma: Caramel malt, floral hops, some grassy earthyness, a little pine
Taste: Just a flash of creamy malt sweetness, then a rush of strong, piney bitterness. Some sweetness reappears on the the back end, but that trails off in the lingering, bitter finish. There is a definite green hop, slightly harsh quality to the finish which boarders on unpleasant.
The Rest: A decent IPA lacking in the balance department. Not enough else going on to balance out the massive hop bill. Drinkablity suffers a bit from the harsh finish as well.
