Growler poured into a Pint Glass.

Pours a hazy orange-gold with a creamy white head that fades to a thick ring and soapy haze. Big aromas of honey, bubblegum, clove, wheat, and orange peel. Crisp. Taste is similar to the nose, TONS of sweet honey character and crisp wheat. Mouthfeel is smooth and creamy, with a medium body and good, sharp carbonation. Overall a great Summertime quencher, I could drink loads of this stuff (and did, the growler went waaay too fast!).

light orange hue took shape. Very nice and bright colors here. There was a very cloudy and hazy consistency here. Loads of sedimentation floating throughout and on the bottom, and on the top of the head. Lots of yeast present here for Sure.

nice touch of banana that started to come through, mixed in with a decent amount of spice and an almost lemon like hoppiness that was really brightening it up nicely. Touches of caramel and bready malt mixed in nicely, Some light grains and a touch of alcohol present as well. Very nicely rounded here, and the sour notes were a bit of a surprise to me as I was not expecting that.

Served from growler into a Mikkeller oversized wine glass. Poured a bright red-orange with a one finger white head that subsided to a minimal amount very slowly. Maintained good lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, banana, fruit, and spices. The flavor was of sweet malt, citrus, banana, clove, spices, and orange peel. It had a medium feel on the palate with mild carbonation. Overall this was a good brew. The aroma coming off of this one was spot-on for the style in my opinion. Lots of spiciness and fruit esters being given off to keep the smell receptors in your nose busy. The flavor on this one was quite nice as well. I really liked how there was an orange peel/zest character going on that seemed to pull the entire beer together. This made it quite easy to drink despite the ABV and could get a few people in trouble. Nicely done COAST!

A: Pours a hazy yellow-orange into tulip. Modest ivory head which quickly dissipates into a slight ring; spotty lace.

S: Popped a mead-like aroma upon opening the growler. Estery. Apple and pear, followed by banana and warming spice. Something floral.

T: follows nose. A touch of balancing yeast bite.

M: Medium bodied and creamy. Raw honey on the finish.

O: A rare opportunity! On tap at Growlers in Hilton Head. The handwritten keg cap indicated it was brewedabout 2 weeks prior to my purchase.

A sunset of spectacular orange above the trees and the marsh, the lazy streams through the muck slowly filling and emptying with the tide, as the fiddler crabs raise their arms in challenge and quickly scuttle away as you approach. The aroma of honey and spice, faintly peppery and a mild lemony note in the background, but a sweet, complicated aroma that fills the senses with calm and quiet in this weather warn world.
Honey so sweet and sticky in the flavour, the dulcet tones of the birds creaking their way through the skies away yonder, the tall house creaking behind you and the trees that were so small when you were a child, the open field that is now a forest, but the salt air and the marsh are still here, calling your heart ever back to your calm reverie, the place where you know that these are the days and the moments that you live for on this earth. There is no one around. Of course not. You used to run down the u-shaped dirt road and ride your bike to Angel Oak. Now your only glimpses of this place are in your memory, and the old house now with a yacht parked in the back... your parents paid $30,000 for that house. What irony. The sticky day begins to draw to a close, as the warmth of the honey and alcohol combine with pepper in the back of your throat for a curious warming and tingling sensation. Life goes on. It has to. But in these moments you can pause to remember how slowly life lolled back then. Raise your glass to the innocence of yesteryear. Sometimes wistfulness becomes more in the experiencing than what you ever did back then. What a beautiful, wistful experience this beer is. And the name means more than you know.
