BOD 1/28/14. Cloudy golden pour with a typical head and lacing that retains for a minute or so. The nose is a blend of citrus and pine hop aromas. Light medium body, somewhat smooth, with a touch above normal carbonation level. The flavor profile is hop forward, but with a mild bitterness. Citrus and pine hops compete for a well balanced blend over a light biscuit background. On the finish, pine predominates as it effervesces then flows into a grapefruit rind bitterness that lingers. A solid offering from Coast, but it needs more balance from the malt.

On tap at the brewery. Served in a taster.
Appearance - Hazy orange. Small head. Minimal lacing.
Smell - Great citrus hop aroma. Aggressive hop bomb aroma. Just a bit of malt.
Taste - Aggressive hop flavor up front. Citrusy. Simple. But nice. Grain in the middle, but it's weak by comparison. The hop flavor builds and gets very strong in the finish. Bitter and extremely hoppy in the finish.
Mouthfeel - Way too hoppy in the finish. Not necessarily over bitter, but the hop flavor gets very sharp.
Overall - Great up front but too strong in the back. I seldom wish a beer to be better balanced, but I wish this were.

Poured from tap into taster at the brewery.
Looks much lighter than most APAs...golden hay color. Smells of fresh piney hops, way more hopy than most APAs...
Taste is of citrusy, piney, and almost sweet flavors. Taste more of an IPA...
This is a beer that cant find a home in the APA community...it looks like a pilsner, smells like an DIPA, and tastes like an IPA. While all is good, it just needs to find a home.
Besides its wanderlust...its full of flavor, yet very mild and refreshing. One of my favorites from COAST.

Had during Brewvival 2012! Poured by The Boy King himself! Served from cask into a Brewvival sampler imperial pint. Poured a pale yellow with a minimal white head. Maintained decent lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, citrus, citrus hop, earth, and a nice floral note. The flavor was of sweet malt, wheat, citrus, earth, floral, and earthy hop. It had a light feel on the palate with medium carbonation. Overall this was a good brew. I really like how there was a nice floral note going on in this one to add some complexity and pleasantness to the overall brew. The citrus was also a very nice touch, but I just wish there would have been a little more to make this brew explode on the palate. Really glad I got the chance to try this one and hope that COAST starts doing this one regularly in the future for others to enjoy.

A: Poured from a growler to a pint glass. Had an orange-yellow color and a cloudy, almost milky consistency. There was an inch of foamy, fairly long-lasting head. Good lacing.
S: A sweet, fruity aroma of hops and lots of citrus.
T: Tasted of hops (a moderate amount), a bit of malt (not too much), and citrus (grapefruit, orange). Tastes more like an IPA than an APA, but this isn't a bad thing. Sweet, fruity, and very tasty.
M: A good amount of carbonation with a dry finish. Medium-bodied.
O: As usual, COAST puts out a well made, easy to drink beer. Drinkable.
