Thanks to Huntermop for the extra!

A- Pitch black pour, dark tan head that shows up and leaves quickly, leaving behind a ring of bubbles.

S- Huge roasted malts, notes of sweet vanilla and coffee. Really nice nose.

T- Big roasty malts, smooth sweet cream and vanilla notes. Big, bold flavors, but not over the top.

M- Silky smooth, rich, full, creamy. Really and pleasure to drink.

O- Not a style I am typically impressed with, but this one kills it. Big, rich, delicious milk stout.

Where the world of high roast and supporting sweet meet is where this this inquisitive ale resides. Its a unique taste in that it's larger than the average Milk Stout but ever slightly so.

Its dark roasty pour is much more like dark roasted coffee than anything of ale. Its ominous black body is topped by a delicate creme of froth that caps its surface like a blanket. Its long lasting structures yields broken necklaces of lace in its wake for a very masculine appearance.

Its incredible aromas are roasty with both espresso coffee and cocoa-rich chocolate. A back of milkshake aromas are an insurance policy that promises balance from creamy sweetness that keeps the char in check. Deliciously sweet to start- the taste of burnt caramel and heavy cream provides a milky vanilla like subtlety just as the brunt of acrid roast thrusts its way in. And its that coffee, campfire, roasted nut taste that carries the beer into a bittersweet chocolate finish with light smoke.

Firmly malted, the ale sells a sweeter and maltier song- but the roast, semi-dry barley textures and mild silkiness is a surprise that softens its tone- making it a much more drinkable stout than it really should be.

Its lush taste isn't completely in disguise- the ale really makes its alcohol and roast boldness readily apparent., yet the mask of milk sugars are always buffering.

A - Pours a super dark brown with half a finger of exact chocolate head. Decent retention, a thin but total layer cover the surface, fantastic lacing.

S - lots of sweet chocolate, lactose, slightly burnt and roasty. Incredibly sweet.

T - sweet chocolate and some roasty/slight earthy hop bitterness, looks of sweet milk/vanilla as well. So sweet

M - full bodied and smooth as hell, fantastic to drink.

O - a ridiculously sweet and smooth delicious lactose heavy stout

A: Poured from a bottle to a pint glass. Had a jet black color and a thick consistency. There was a small amount of creamy, tan-colored head that lasted a fair amount of time. Good lacing.

S: A big aroma of chocolate, malt, cream, and a little hops.

T: Tasted of light coffee, malt, a little hops, chocolate, and some cream. This beer has a much bolder and powerful flavor than your typical milk stout. A smooth and rich flavor.

M: A good amount of carbonation with a silky smooth finish. Medium-bodied.

O: Sometimes milk stouts can be rather thin beers, but this is not the case with this one. Very well done and drinkable.

22oz bottle into a snifter.

Pours an inky black with a thin mocha head that settles to a slight ring and wispy haze. Lovely aromas of dark roasted malts, coffee, sweet cream, oatmeal, and a touch of chocolate. Full nose. Instantly one of the best Milk Stouts I've ever had. Creamy oats, chocolate, dark malt, and tons of sweet cream. Almost liquid ice cream. Decadent, yet not filling. Amazing. Mouthfeel is smooth and velvety, with a medium-full body and ample carbonation. Really impressive brew, hopefully this makes it into the yearly (if not sooner) COAST rotation!
