We’ve taken our Insidious Imperial Stout and kept it hostage for nearly a year in the cellar. Aged in Kentucky Bourbon barrels, Insidious takes on a seductive bourbon aroma and wraps up flavors of chocolate and vanilla to close with a warming bourbon finish.

12oz bottle from Ber Peddlers. Dark brown, ring of beige head. Aroma is roast malts, chocolate and light barrel notes. Chocolate and malts in the taste, and again I'm not getting too much of the barrel. Maybe I shouldn't have had this after a J. Wakefield. A bit disappointing.

Pours black with a slow-building finger of creamy-looking, dark-khaki head that quickly settles into a cap and crown. Decent lacing.
The aroma’s made of dark malts, creamy chocolate, vanilla and some red wine character that has me a little worried.
Some creaminess, caramel and vanilla show up front thru mid-palate in the taste, but the finish is comparatively dry and has some slight shoe leather and peanut to it. The red wine isn’t completely absent, but is a bit less present here.
Medium bodied and lightly creamy with strong, tight carbonation.
Mixed feelings about this one. The core of it is okay, but kept wondering if it was showing as intended. Canned on 2/7/22.

So much bourbon and vanilla, two of my favorite flavors. Also at 9% it's boozy enough to enjoy for a cold winter night. I saw this every year it comes out, but this is one of the very best beers that Fegley's makes.
