10.5 ABR, 25 IBU's, a perfect Christmas Holiday brew. Many hints of spices, maple, cinnamon, & Nutmeg. Nice tan head, with a dark pour.

Holiday Beer Tasting at JPK's.
1. Bruery 10 Lords a Leaping
2. N'ice Chouffe
3. Goose Island Noel
4. Fegley's Rude Elf Reserve
Ugly Cloudy Brown Look. Minimal Head.
Lots of Bourbon in nose and taste; hard to discern anything else. Way too hot, probably needs some age.

L - Two plus fingers worth of crisp lopsided off-white colored audibly fizzy head comprised of big chunky bubbles... Impressive retention... Once receded there is a full even veil of lacing and moderate collar... The color is a slightly murky medium brown... A few sluggish carbonation streaks can be seen towards the top of the glass... A wee bit of lacing clings to the glass...
S - A unique mix of bourbon barrels and winter spices at the forefront... The seem to ebb and flow as the compete for top billing... Buried beneath is a rich malt base... Cookies... Dark fruit... Molasses... Potent as on doesn't even have to bring their nose to the glass to enjoy...
T - Loads of dueling flavors to enjoy and process.... Complexities are abound... Mulling spices... Bourbon notes... Vanilla... Figs... Dark fruits... Molasses... Red licorice... Each sip reveals a new and slightly unique presence... Highly enjoyable...
F - On the fuller side of medium bodied... Sticky... Sleek... A bit chewy... A moderate bit of fizzy carbonation... Even and consistent...
O - A truly unique and spectacular winter offering... It's been years since I've enjoyed the base beer, but this is in a whole other realm... Excellent in all facets... Completely unique... Well executed... Highly recommended...

Pours a cloudy dark copper with honey edges and about a half finger of head. The nose is dominated by lively soft bourbon notes. The bourbon notes in the flavor profile are just enough to be enjoyable but not too much to be overwhelming. The sweetness of the bourbon melds very well with the sweetness of the base beer. Finally, the body is just hearty enough to carry the bourbon well.
All that said, I think that an additional year of age on this would make it even more smooth and tasty. I will purchasing another bottle and checking back at the end of 2016 to determine if my hypothesis is correct.

A - Pours a ruby/garnet reed color with a very thick, dense, creamy white head.
S - Cinnamon, nutmeg, bourbon, oak, light cherry tang.
T - Cherry, oak, bourbon, cinnamon, nutmeg, a hint of cherry tang.
M - Heavy, full bodied, sticky.
O - This is worth seeking out if you like Christmas beers, the bourbon barrel adds a nice layer of complexity to an already solid Christmas ale.
