Visited my first time since FW said they send beer here, and was happy to find some nice brews.

It's a traditional liquor store with an added wine cellar, that has a wall of beer.

Seems to be well taken care of. While it doesn't have the selection that bevmo does, it's prices are spot on and an easy location makes for a good shopping visit while in Orange/Villa Park.

While I only spent about 10-15 minutes there, the one gentleman there was glad to point out they had additional beer selections in their wine section/cellar. They even had some things to try I hadn't had before.

I found a Bruery Orchard White offering I hadn't had before, plus some other nice staples of the craft.

Prices are good, average or less, with a few a little more.

I will be coming here again, I enjoyed my first visit with only a short stop by on my way to work. I will enjoy a longer stop by my first opportunity.

Having grown up in Villa Park, Wayne's Liquor will always have a place in my heart; it is the only convenience store in the city of Villa Park. Even before the days of beer drinking, it was (and still remains) the only store where I can run in, grab a soft drink and candy bar, and get out quickly. It is also the only place in Villa Park which sells lottery tickets.

As I started to get into beer four years ago, I noticed this place had a decent selection of beer, decent enough where I could stop by and get a Stone IPA. The selection, while small by BeerFly standards, had enough rotating brands and beers to keep me coming back in hope of finding new beer.

Then, earlier tonight as I entered thirsting for a Stone beer, I noticed something different; there was a paper note inside the refrigerator which stated that there was more beer in the wine cellar. I was curious to what I would come across.

I got excited with what I saw in the wine cellar. In addition to the Stone, Fullers, Green Flash, Lost Coast, and Delirium Tremens I could buy from the fridge, I found a number of new arrivals to Wayne's, in the form of Flying Dog, Rogue, Tripel Karmeliet, St. Peter's, Duchesse de Bourgogne, Allagash, Gouden Carolus, St. Bernardus Tripel, Lost Coast, Coronado, Aventinus, Hofbrau, Bitburger, and more. No, it hasn't turned into a mecca...maybe a mecca for Villa Park, but considering that this is a 7 mintue walk from my house and is usually open until 10pm, the additional selection is a nice surprise. Now I don't need to deal with long lines at BevMo if I crave Belgian beer.

The shape of the beers are usually solid, and the employee's can speak a little bit of beerinese (one of whom I went to high school with).

Wayne's Liquor will certainly be receiving more visits from me when I'm not in a ticking mode. C'mon, it's my local store, I want them to do well.
