A light bodied, tart and refreshing sour blonde ale re-fermented in French oak barrels and aged on plenty of Wisconsin cranberries. Central Wisconsin is cranberry country, so it was easy to fall in love with the idea of aging our insanely tart sour ale on this beloved super fruit. We used two pounds of cranberries per gallon for maximum pucker factor. This is what taking chances is all about...going all out and ending up with something this wonderful.

Poured from 750 mL bottle into tulip.
A: Pours a clear orange-amber hue with high carbonation producing a 2-3 inch fizzy, bubbly white head that fairly quickly settles to a thin skim that continues to be fueled by the active carbonation jets. No lacing.
S: Nose-smacking sour funk, tart cranberries, dry earthy minerals (almost chalky), tart lemon citrus, and a hint of oak tannins.
T: Sour funk (much more restrained here than in the aroma), immediately followed by tart cranberries and lemon. Underneath lies notes of oaky wood, vanilla, red berries, and a hint of cinnamon.
M: Light body. Sour and tart with a touch of fruit sweetness. Strongly sour on the nose with much better balance in the taste. Lingers and matures nicely on the palate too.
D: Refreshing and complex...always a nice combination! Would pair very nicely with a triple cream cheese. Seek it out!
