On-tap at Three Cellars, Franklin, WI:
Pours deep golden with a thin lasting white head. Lacing sticks.
The smell is of robust mandarin orange. I wouldn't say it is complex, but it is certainly inviting!
The taste is of orange with grapefruit. Alcohol very-well-covered. Just enough of a pale malt backbone to keep it balanced while showcasing the El Dorado hops.
It has a juicy texture. Very easy-to-drink.
A well-made, enjoyable IPA that showcased the El Dorado hops well - orange with some grapefruit. Enough malt to keep bitterness enjoyable. Nice!

Draft at Village Tap.
Bright orange body, compact layer of white foam that leaves behind a ring of delicate lace.
Vague citrus peel aroma, a little oniony. Not sure how fresh it is, as it's not all that pungent.
Taste is moderately bitter, some basic Pilsner malt and green onion. Not the most expressive, though it's light bodied and drinkable enough. El Dorado can be great, which made me wonder how old the keg was.

On tap at The Spot, Madison. I mistakenly ordered this thinking it was a double IPA, so I suppose I shouldn't fault the beer for my disappointment . . . Even so, it comes off as pretty one-dimensional -- all citric bitterness.

Why do I have to justify my rating w/ a review?

Worth a taste. Nothing powerful here. Just a pleasant beer.
