A-Dark brown w/hint red. Beige head and light tracing.
S-Toasted chocolate malt, sweet plums, raisins, roasted cereal, light smokiness, tobacco, rustic earthy aroma.
T-Flavor brings out cafe-mocha, roast malt, light apple, grape and raisins. Bitter hops cleanse the palate in the finish.
M-Body starts strong and velvety, but carbonation faded very quickly, affecting the overall balance in the finish. Flavors are harmonious, but light carbonation in this bottle detracted from the overall experience. I had this on tap as well, and carbonation was robust and was not an issue in that instance.
D-A pleasant porter--sessionable in colder weather. The complex aroma is its best asset, and this aspect is outstanding.

Thanks to someone for sharing this bottle at a recent tasting. I think it may have been blutt59.

The beer pours a dark brown color with red highlights and a tan head. The aroma is chocolate, roasted malt and dark fruit. The flavor is roasted malt, chocolate and coffee. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. A very nice, roasted porter.

Pretty much black with just the faintest of mahogany trim. The tan head is moderate in all things: height, retention, and lacing.
It carries the aroma of burnt chocolate chip cookies dunked in coffee, along with a burst of sprucey hops late.
Tastewise, the coffee traits hit upfront, then fade to a generalized sense of toasted grain. Chocolate, caramel, vanilla, and cookie dough all take cameo turns, but none stays long enough to gain special mention, though as a whole they materialize more as it warms in a blanketing sweeter counterpoint to the roast/toast. Its semi-sweet bready middle brings a neutral yeastiness. Hops are secondary (or even tertiary) but add floral, piney bitterness on the swallow.
Sleek feeling, medium bodied. Carbonation is low, but not flat seeming. It's easily consumed, potentially in large quantities.
It's not an overly refined porter, but that's part of its charm.

A - It comes in as a dark liquid, impenetrable by light

S - Strong smell of coffee and perhaps some chocolate

T - Rich and creamy, full and complex. It tastes strongly of coffee with hints of something slightly sweet - maybe chocolate? It does have some bitterness, but it is hardly noticeable.

M - It is smooth, creamy, easy on the tongue, and goes down easily.

O - This is a wonderfully creamy and rich beer that I wish were more widely available. (At the time of this review, I believe it is only available in Wisconsin)
