I found this single 12oz brown bottle at the Binny's store in Bloomingdale, IL as part of a build- your-own six pack for $9.99, making them $1.67 each. No freshness date.

The beer poured a super dark brown color with a 1-finger khaki colored head that lasted a few minutes and left lots of good lacing.

Roasted malt and chocolate aroma.

Toasted malt and chocolate are the main flavors, but there is also a slight tartness to it along with a mild but pleasant bitterness.

Smooth and creamy. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. I loved the mouthfeel.

Simple, but a pretty good porter.

The Night Train name takes me back to my college years listening to Public Enemy and seeing bottle of Night Train next to the Boone's Farms. This beer poured a dark opaque with very thin slight off-white head that is not leaving much of a lace. The scent is ripe with espresso and earth. The taste is bitter all the way through the beer with a stringent and slightly acidic coffee base. As the taste lingers on the pallet, peat and earth become more prevalient. The mouthfeel is medium in body with weak carbonation. Overall it is an ok porter, very drinkable.
