pored 12oz bottle into Duvel tulip.

A - Rather dark gold and cloudy with a 1.5 finger white head. Decent retention that leaves a collar and some lacing on the glass.

S - Aromas of yeast, earth, floral hops, wet grass, hints of citrus and spice. The earthy scent is a bit stronger than most in this style.

T - Quite yeasty with a pleasant amount of peppery spice. The earthiness works well with the floral hops to add a subtle bitterness. Hints of citrus and wet grass are also found in the taste.

M - Medium body and well carbonated with a somewhat spicey and dry finish.

O - I think this is the first time this has been bottled in a few years, unless I have missed it. A 77 rating is a bit low and I would score this in the lower 80's for a farmhouse style.

Pours a nice, frothy head that has nice persistence. A fruity, yeasty aroma. Hazy, golden color. Starts with fruity, floral hoppiness, and a medium bitterness. Big notes of yeastiness develops with the hoppiness. Sweet malt comes out through the yeastiness, with the bitterness remaining throughout. The finish is hop bitterness, sweet malt, and that earthy yeastiness. The lingering bitterness is slightly floral, which plays off the yeastiness in a pleasant way.

Overall, not too bad. A bit too bitter for my preferences for this style. The mouthfeel is great, and the malty/yeasty balance is actually very nice. Nothing mind-blowing, but it's very solid.

Finally got to try this after reading about it for a few years. the pour is a deep golden yellow with a fizzy white head. Not by any means an overwhelming saison when it comes to spices but very drinkable. Holy dry finish on this one. Love the fact that she's 8%. I could definitely see myself sitting out on the boat or just out at the lake in general knocking back a 6 pack of these and having myself a pretty awesome afternoon. I wouldn't say it's anywhere close to being one of Oso's BEST offerings however it kicks the shit out of a lot of there other regular year round lineup. It especially holds it's own being one of there older offerings. Im surprised that this flies off the shelves so quickly every year but then again If I remember correctly I believe I did talk to Marc about it earlier this year and I believe he said that they only brew a small amount of it. I think it may be a little more popular around the Plover area perhaps? This is the first time since 2011 I've seen it around in MKE and I frequent A LOT of beer retailers on a very regular basis. Decently carbonated with a bit of a tart off spicy finish, definetly not the worst representation of an American version of the style. Definitely worth the try, if you see it on the shelves, don't hesitate to grab a pack. The fact alone that they don't make too much of it is reason enough to at least give it a shot.
