Pours a black color. 1/3 inch head of an off-white color. Great retention and great lacing. Smells of strong bacterial funk, fruit, sweet malt, alcohol, and yeast. Fits the style of an American Wild Ale. Mouth feel is sharp and crisp, with an average carbonation level. There is also a strong dryness and slight tartness. Tastes of strong bacterial funk, fruit, sweet malt, hint of roasted malt, hint of coffee, alcohol, and yeast. Overall, good appearance, strong aroma and body, good blend and feel.

great use of blueberries in this, my first beer from destihl. in the context of a million other sour beers, it may not stand out from the crowd, but in isolation i think its a real winner. similar partial vinegar sour profile like the hanssens fruit series beers, all that lactic acidity, just lacking a little of the oaky funk in this one. beautiful pale purple color with a half inch of pink head thats gone in just a few seconds. i dont mind that the beer is still overall, more of an authentic lambic feel to it. thin acidic body gives way to bright summery blueberries, skins and all, with a perfect mix of tartness from the fruit and the sweetness, which is just short of fermented entirely out. i get less fruit in the smell than the taste, with a lemony vibe more in the nose than blueberry specifically from all the acid. slight vinegar sourness, front of tongue, but not caustic or too hot like some can be. long flavor in the finish, but on an extremely dry palate, a cool dichotomy of feel. overall one of the better blueberry sours out there i think, these arent easy to do well, and i think the fruit comes through robustly and authentically.
