Notes from July 16, 2014 at Hopleaf, Chicago, IL

A: Reddish brown. A bit hazy. No head and no lacing.

S: Plum, cherry and raisin.

T: Big plum flavor. A bit tart plum skin. Has a hint of sweeter dried fruit notes like raisin.

M: Thin and carbonated

D: Looks smells and tastes like plum. Not too sour at all.

From Notes (6-08-14 @ Farmhouse):

Pours a rich, rose-amber color with a minimal head. Tastes of apple cider vinegar, salt, pomegranate, and purple grapes. It's tart, but not excessively so. A touch of grain husk lingers on the back end.

This is a full-flavored sour ale that strikes a good balance between fruitiness and sourness. Many of the traditional flagship Flanders reds tend to be a little too sour and one-dimensional for my tastes, so this was a pleasant change of pace.
