Bottle thanks to Naven. Pours a clear orange with a thick, foamy off-white head. Aroma of bitter piney hops and caramel malt. Flavor is quite bitter and piney with a touch of underlying malt. Hmm, this is a bit too bitter for me and certainly wearing on the palate. Not as well balanced between the hops and malt as I'd like.

Classic West Coast style IPA. The can pretty much sums it up: bright (floral and citrus) notes as well as piney bitterness, but all balanced against a weighty malt bill that dampens the bitterness.
Poured into a tulip from a 12oz can procured from a mixed 24 pack from Costco in Murrieta, California.
LOOKS:
Amazing: orange/yellow, unfiltered with 2 inch dense head that decreased to a dense 1" persistent head.
NOSE:
Not a huge nose, but you smell hops and malts...sweet, citrus, bready.
TASTE:
Not huge either, but good. Upfront I get the zingy hops, then in the middle it gets more sweet and interesting...slight funky dankiness from the hops. Back of the tongue I get more balanced hops and malts, sweet and citrus and bitterness. As it warmed up it showed off more flavor profile. Very drinkable, but bitter as it should be.
MOUTHFEEL:
Medium, but finished pretty dry. Hoppy aftertaste from the oils. Well balanced.
Good stuff, but I like their hazy right now from the mixed pack. I like this single IPA more than their IIPA.
I also like this pack because it came with a blonde ale for the lager and blonde lovers out there. Solid work Mission! Go Riverside!

12 oz. bottle:
Pours golden yellow with a fluffy lasting head. Spotted rings of lacing stick.
The smell is of citrus (grapefruit and orange) with pine.
The taste is of light citrus, some pine. Caramelized bread balances it out in the middle. Bitterness, along with spicy black pepper, shows in the finish.
It is light-bodied (as intended, according to the description on the label). A bit too light for the style, allowing the alcohol to show. But, it holds together well enough.
A fairly standard IPA, but a decent/good one. It does show the IPA bitterness.

San Diego Mission brewery made IPA had the hops, citrus and pine I expected. Light golden color with very little carbonation. Strong malt aftertaste but smooth, with a bitter taste that lingers. Good refreshing IPA.
