A: Orangey gold body with a chewy white head and chunky lacing.
S: Orange marmalade and fudge.
T: Nice and bitter. Orange marmalade with some elderflower is the hop profile. Alleluia, it has malt character, one which is kind of syrupy and slightly biscuity. When it all comes together on the tongue there's a nice bite. It's slightly sweet and rightly so. Despite the bitterness it's not astringient. Towards the end there's tea leaves.
O: American IPAs are a homogeneous bunch. Some are great and some are shit. This was great, but not as good as Sculpin. I imagine fresh it's probably fantastic.

This is a tasty IPA from Mission Brewery. The aroma is citrus hops when cracked open and the smell is sustained when poured into the glass.
The flavor of the beer is lightly hop tainted smooth beer. It has a balanced taste with no punishing heavy alcohol or malt taste that seems to hurt some other IPAs. Smooth, drinkable, friendly and a great after-taste.
I poured it from a 22 to a pint glass for reasoned appreciation. Frothy head and a sustained lemon hop flavor. An excellent pairing with spicy vegetarian food.

Color- hazy apricot.
Aroma- sweet nectarine, like a fruity butterscotch.
Taste- Starts buttery and smooth, orange and nectarine notes, finishing mild with a lingering balanced tartness.
Poured from 650 ml bomber into a Liefmans Goudenband glass (my preferred all purpose beer tasting glass). Tasted December 2012.
