No date. 12oz bottle poured into a tulip. Pours a beautiful transparent golden with a white fluffy head that sticks around and leaves very sticky lacing. Really nice looking IPA, unfortunately that's the best part. The aromas are very subtle and caramel malt seems to dominate. There are hints of orange peel and mint. The flavors don't really impress either. There's a decent spiciness to this one. I'm picking up some black pepper, lime zest, and more caramel. The centennial hops don't pop at all. I'd almost suspect this is an old IPA, but Mission is relatively new to Ohio, so I wouldn't expect them to be shipping old IPAs. Mouthfeel is very nice. It's light, creamy and has moderate carbonation. The mouthfeel really does make this an easy drinking beer and almost saves the boring flavors and aromas. Alcohol goes unnoticed.

I'm not feeling this at all. This is a pretty underwhelming IPA, especially considering it hails from San Diego.

This is a good AIPA that is perhaps a bit easier drinking than most others.

It is a bit flat looking. It has a dark yellow ipa look. The aroma is intriguing. It has a certain uniqueness, but it is too subtle.

Taste-wise, it is not a powerhouse, but it has great character. It is a light, balanced taste that is not at all hoppy. The aftertaste is slightly boozy.

I will probably not see Mission brews very often and I would not seek them out, but they were pleasant.

Review is from written notes.

Growler fill from Casanova, Hudson, WI

The nose and taste were both pine-resin forward, with light citric notes in the taste. Malt was clean, caramel-biscuit and light enough to be unobtrusive. Medium-light body with good carbonation. Uncomplex IPA, drinks clean and is refreshing. Overall an unassuming and nice sessionable IPA that finishes clean.

Pours a beautiful golden blonde color with a huge head into my glass. I love the brightness here. More IPAs should be this pale.

Pine hops with a touch of citrus. Seems balanced enough. A touch of baked bread lies underneath as well.

Wow. The taste is full of piney hops with that touch of citrus as mentioned. Not grapefruit. Bitterness is spread around the palate so you only really get it at the edges. Buttery bread covers the spread.

Mouthfeel is balanced too. Clean and full of pronounced pine hops. I love how it all melds together at the very back of the throat.

Not your typical west coast IPA here. Plenty of balance all around.

Thanks to Hoyt for sharing this one.

A - orange with a big, frothy, white head that has good retention

S - faint bread, big citrusy hop aroma

T - citrus, pine, mildly bitter; not much of a malt presence

M - medium bodied, smooth, well carbonated

This is a nice IPA, but a bit simplistic. The hops take the forefront with little malt for balance. The hops are delicious however. I did enjoy this, but I wanted something a little more. It's worth a try nonetheless.

Excellent IPA! Served with a nice thick, creamy, foamy, cream-colored head that settled to a creamy (ouch - what's a synonym for creamy?) cover and lots of fine, sheeting lace. Color is a clear amber with loads of tiny bubble trails. Aroma is an aromatic blend of hop and caramel malt with a hint of fruit. Flavor's like nose, has limited sweetness, perfect balance between bitter, carbonic tang in front, with that sweet just to compliment. Body and carbonation perfect. Finish is a little long and pleasant, very drinkable, and only the suggestion of alcohol. I want more!
