A: measured my pour into a tulip as I had decided not to include the yeast and sediment from the bottom. Got a slightly hazy pale amber body with a minimal head, off-white in shade.

S: not much of note here, some sweet pale malt smells and hoppy floral notes

T: alcohol overpowered other flavors for me on the first few sips - perhaps I drank it too soon out of the fridge - needed to warm for expected butterscotchy malt flavors and, in this case, sharp pine and subtle resin flavors from the hops

M: astringent on the first few sips, never developed much feel - there was always a slight astringence to offset any smooth coating - even once the beer had warmed - perhaps the damage was done at that point.

O: my most bland scores to-date (300+ reviews as of this entry). For me, not a return-to beer simply because there are so many DIPAs out there that I enjoy that aren't expensive or hard to find. That said, if you're a fan of DIPAs, I'd still say try it anyway. Right?

A: The beer is relatively clear copper in color and has a light amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a finger high beige head that died down, leaving lacing covering the surface and a thin ring of bubbles around the edge of the glass.
S: The nose has aromas of grapefruit hops along with notes of pine resin hops.
T: The taste is very similar to the smell and has a moderate amount of bitterness and notes of alcohol in the flavor.
M: It feels medium-bodied, somewhat crisp and slightly sticky on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation. There is warming from the alcohol and the finish has a bit of dryness.
O: The high alcohol content and noticeable presence of alcohol in the taste reduces the drinkability of this beer.

Poured into one of Samuel Adams larger glass, color was a nice cooper w/ an orange hue leaving a decent head. The hops weren't really noticeable but neither was the 9.25% abv which was pleaently surprising. The hops were noticable in the aftertaste, not harsh, but there! Overall, Shipwrecked was smooth and enjoyable!
