Medium amber color with a brownish tinge in the tall Blanche de Chambly glass. Plenty of foam. The aroma is interesting, with a piney note and a whiff of celery and green tea. Lots of carbonation on the tongue.

Just the faintest sweetness. Some malt with an acidic edge. Starts out moderately bitter but veers toward the unpleasantly herb tea bitterness after some sipping. There is a lemony sourish note at the end that doesn't add much to the overall impression.

A sudsy Pale Ale sort of brew. Not much to please here. From the 22 oz bottle bought at The Market in Anacortes.

From Notes

16.oz can with no freshness date. I probably purchased this at Huckleberry's in Spokane but am not sure. According to the can, this was brewed with only Columbus hops.

Poured a golden amber color with a slight chill haze. There was a BIG, creamy beige colored head that left lots of lace. Said head took lots of time dropping.

Big, citrusy hop aroma. Bready malts were detectable but were otherwise shy and retiring.

The flavor was primarily of grapefruit-like hops. There was a surprisingly earthy malt flavor in the background. Bitterness was moderate; enough that you know you are drinking an IPA, but definitely not overwhelming.

Mouthfeel was slightly oily.

This beer seemed like a reasonably flavorful "session IPA." There's a lot of other IPAs in my neck of the woods that deliver the goods just as well or better, so I wouldn't reccomend using herioc measures to locate this beer, but if you see it and are looking for a decent IPA in a can, you cna do worse.

Poured out of a 16oz. can into a pint glass.

A: Light amber-brown grainy malty color. Big solid foamy white head that lasts for a bit before settling down to a nice lacing.

S: Caramelly malt notes with hops, smells almost like orange peels or other citrusy terpenoids.

T: Nicely sweet and malty with a bitter hop backing. Almost an umami aftertaste, which I could be imagining. Not too complex. What I would think of as a classic IPA profile, more on the piney side of taste than the orange peel/floral side despite the smell.

M: Excellent. Slightly watery but that is complemented by the bubbly head which means it's very drinkable.

O: A good beer with cheesy graphics on the can. I'll have to try more by this brewery.

A - Clear golden with frothy lacing
S - Sort of watery, faint sweet cream and vanilla, sugary frosting
T - Not offensive but not impressive. Aromas are reiterated here, with similar vacant/ wateryness pervading. Slightly sour in a lime sort of way. Better when warmer.
M - Refreshingly bitter, goes down easy, doesn't overstay its welcome. This would be a good thirst quencher on a hot day
O - Certainly not a bad beer, especially for its reasonable price. Pales in comparison to other IPAs out there- most notably Stone's "Enjoy By" series, which is essentially Hoppy Bitch dialed up by 10 notches. Missing many of the wonderful floral and citrus qualities I love in IPAs, this one just falls a bit short of being really worthwhile.

What is that, a Malty aftertaste? First taste interesting, smells good. Need to buy this just to taste a Hoppy Bitch! This is another one that can grow on you, pretty smooth for sure. Any kinda food should do or just drink several and see if it is one to keep on truckin' with I am pretty sure my Chocolate Lab would like it if he was still barkin!

16 oz can. Pours hazy golden copper with a medium creamy off-white head that goes to a thin film and laces the glass.

The aroma is sweet biscuity malts with a little fruity resiny hops.

The flavor is sweet biscuity malts with big bitterness from resiny hops that leave a harsh, slightly vegetal, finish in the aftertaste. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with low carbonation and a little watery.

Overall, too much sweet biscuity malt and not enough hop flavor (but does have good bitterness).
