Medium amber color with a brownish tinge in the tall Blanche de Chambly glass. Plenty of foam. The aroma is interesting, with a piney note and a whiff of celery and green tea. Lots of carbonation on the tongue.

Just the faintest sweetness. Some malt with an acidic edge. Starts out moderately bitter but veers toward the unpleasantly herb tea bitterness after some sipping. There is a lemony sourish note at the end that doesn't add much to the overall impression.

A sudsy Pale Ale sort of brew. Not much to please here. From the 22 oz bottle bought at The Market in Anacortes.

16 oz can. Pours hazy golden copper with a medium creamy off-white head that goes to a thin film and laces the glass.

The aroma is sweet biscuity malts with a little fruity resiny hops.

The flavor is sweet biscuity malts with big bitterness from resiny hops that leave a harsh, slightly vegetal, finish in the aftertaste. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with low carbonation and a little watery.

Overall, too much sweet biscuity malt and not enough hop flavor (but does have good bitterness).

Good orange appearance, 1" head, egg shell white, we're all good here. Aroma, lacked hops, we're not all good here, just bitter with no floral or hop quality.

Taste, damn, still no hops, just a grating bitterness. So tired of this! Strong carbonation just makes the bitterness prickly, doesn't bring about anything worthwhile. Bitterness overwhelms any semblance of being able to taste anything else, much less the malt profile, geee is there any caramel? I dunno, all I taste is high alpha acid long hop boil.

You know how when something is so spicy, it overtakes the flavor profile? Well, that's how this is, but replace bitter for spicy.

Not recommended unless you just like one trick ponies.

On tap at the Trade Route taproom. Poured into a straight pint glass. July 27th, 2011.

A: The beer poured an copper/orange color with a big 2-inch head of foam. Honestly, this may have been the result of the bartender messing up the pour... who knows. There was very minimal lacing, which surprised me for a 6.3% IPA.

S: Hoppy Bitch has a unique smell for an IPA. The beer gave off a very sweet aroma of herbs and honey, with some hops and orange peel hanging around in the back.

T: Very weak hop profile in this beer, even when fresh. The sweetness I noticed in the smell translated over to the taste, with something reminiscent of sweet corn and malt with some faint citrus hops lingering at the end.

M: Average carbonation with a small amount of bubbles rising up from the bottom of the glass. Slightly sticky mouth feel.

O: My overall feeling is that this is a strange IPA. It's really easy to drink, but the prominent sweet corn flavor is off-putting.

The Hoppy Bitch leaves a bitter tast ein one's mouth....just like a real bitch would. The beer pours a clear orange with thin white head that laced. The smell subtle bitter citrus, with floral notes and hints of pepper. The mouthfeel is a medium body with mild carbonation. Overall it is a neat beer to try....can see how Columbus hops accent a beer.

Pours a finger of head on a clear straw colored body.
The aroma starts with bright mango and pineapple, but quickly turns to a dull dank smell. The change is abrupt.
The taste has a solid and bold bitterness all the way through. The malt attempts to balance it but the hops dominate.
The texture is crisp with a thicker body.
It's enjoyable. Lots of big hops.

P: 1 pint, 6 ozs poured into a tulip glass...Brown Bomber bottle with a fun label, devil-like writing above flames...

A: Clear brassy hue…Leaves behind some fluffy rings of lacing.

S: Mint, marmalade, faint caramel, ripe pear, Orange citrus, lemon juice, light florals and grass.

T: Yuck! A hint of hops, followed by a huge spice kick that turns into a spicy/soap combo...weird!!

M - OK carbonation... There is 'NO' balance in this beer... The hop/limited fruit/and spice combos just don't work...

O - This one is NOT great... I think this beer's name and label are the only worth-while qualities...other than that, nothing really positive to say about the beer...bummer!! Chasin' Cheers :~)

Big thanks goes out to 67couple for sharing this one at a recent tasting! Served from bottle into a Mikkeller oversized wine glass. Poured red-orange with a half finger off-white head that subsided to a minimal amount quickly. Maintained nice lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, sugar, caramel, and wood. The flavor was of sweet malt, caramel, cream, wood, subtle sugar, and fruit. It had a light feel on the palate with medium-high carbonation. Overall this was a pretty decent brew. With this one being an IPA by the bottle I was expecting a lot more of a hop presence to be here. Unfortunately that was not the case, but there was still quite a bit going on which was nice. If the hop profiles would have carried over a little bit more this would have been an excellent brew. Definitely worth taking the time to try though.

Poured from the bottle into a nonic pint glass.

A real nice looking beer on the pour, caramel red crystal clear body, with some slow rising carbonation. Head is off white and light tan, fluffy and four fingers large. Big retention and clumping action. Aggressive and impressive looking.

Nose is a faint sugar malt, and then a somewhat soapy hop accent. A bit of dry bitterness hop side. Hints of peppermint and candy. Pretty good, but kind of small.

Taste hits with a light body, and a faint malt action on the palate. Hop angle gets a tad medicinal and chalky aspirin quality. Some very tight carbonation that luckily doesn't disturb the palate. A bit jarring citrus oil also with lots of acidic quality on the finish.

Overall it's not really grabbing me, and sort of pulls me in the wrong direction, but it is drinkable.

Poured from a bomber to 3 pint glasses at my buddy Keaton's b-day.

Appearance: A semi translucent pale orange with 2 inch head and good retention.

Smell: Seems to be dominated by Columbus, a fair hoppiness. A good bit of grainy malt tones. Other than that it kind of lacks in smell.

Taste: The flavor follows the nose. It's a solid (mediocre) IPA. It's fairly sweet but I don't think it's anything special.

Mouthfeel: Medium body and carbonation.

Overall: A decent simple IPA, not not overly Hoppy.
