A: Clear amber, some head.

S: Muted. Some malts, slight bread.

T: Same as nose. Decent, but seemed muted for some reason. Slight nut backround.

M: Crisp, refreshing.

D: I was surprised at the ABV being high. Would make a real nice session beer if it were around 5%.

Clear dark gold with a tight white head that retains decently and laces the same.
Lightly grainy nose with deeper impressions of golden raisins and caramel. It carries along a lightly spiked notion of booziness, and a decent (per the style) slap of herbal hop bitterness.
The mouth brings a mirror image of what the nose previewed. A touch of graininess. More thorough golden fruitiness via raisins and pears. The continuing sweetness ventures towards honey and bread in the midsection. Later, the hops step out and add bitter herbs and grasses, and it concludes with a minor alcoholic note.
Slick, almost greasy, medium plus bodied with lowly carbonation. The slightly untraditional hoppiness only partially offset the thick malt load.
I like this...and only like...I don't love it. It's a bit rolly polly, and unrefined. The semi-foward hops don't allow it to ring true per the style, and the change up it throws isn't clean enough to embrace fully. That said, when it's a tough choice between a maibock and an APA, this fills that middle ground.

A - The brew has a pale copper body and a nice white frothy head.

S - Fruity and an unusual fragrance of alcohol is notable. This is quite uncommon in a Maibock.

T - Fruity with alcohol and a spicy maltiness to it. There's a subtle presence of toffee and sweetness.

M - The feel has that of a medium body with a slightly coarse finish as it goes down smooth.

~ This is a very drinkable summer brew and one I will certainly recommend to my friends.
