Let me begin by saying WOW! It was my first time there tonight and it totally blew my mind! A friend from work has been telling me about this place for about a week or two now, so I finally gave in to go with him for some drinks after work. We sat at the upstairs bar and had the best bartender you could ever ask for, his name, Casey. He is part owner of the establishment. Let me tell you, this man knows his shit! You want to talk beer, he knows it. Beers paired tremendously with their corresponding glasses, great suggestions, and help with beer that I have never even heard of before. He had the best grasp on beer that I have ever heard. I tried 3 new beers that I have never even had before. Put it this way they had St. Bernardus abt 12 on TAP on Tap, as well as Cantillion Gueuze and Sly fox oatmeal stout. Amazing!! They serve Mexican food to accompany the great beer selection and the food is pretty damn good as well. I just can't get over the tap selection. They are truly on their way to becoming one of the better beer bars in Philadelphia. Hats off to Pistolas. Here is to many more years to come! You can't go wrong with this bar. If you are ever in Philly check it out!

I've only been in this place once and I wasn't a huge fan. It's a two story bar, with a basic layout and atmosphere. The bathrooms are on the third floor, which is actually like 5 flights of stairs up, so it's hot as hell up there, plus if you have a few drinks in you, stumbling up and/or down that stairway isn't too fun...wait as long as possible to break the seal, I guess is the take-home message there.
Anyway, the beer list is decent. Mostly local stuff, micro standards, some Belgians. They seem to get good events here once in a while, and there was some leftover Everett on when I visited, so that was a no-brainer. I think most fans of this bar like it because they used to get Cantillon once in a while before the ungodly craze started.
Service was fine. I didn't sample the food, but it seemed like your basic Mexican-style fare. Prices were on the steeper side, though not ridiculous.
Overall, I don't see myself going here often or ever again, considering there are so many other better bars within walking distance.
