Coming in a slim 330ml brown bottle, BB 31/05/2014, served lightly chilled in a long-stemmed wine goblet.

A: pours a murky dark orangey amber colour, coming with a thin layer of off-white foam with good retention, on top of moderate carbonation.
S: lightly vinous and lactic yeasty against a mild backbone of amber malts, while an acute aroma of sour-sweet white prunes, perfumy (straw)berries, sour plums and pears retain on the side. Very different than one’s ordinary Tripel.
T: lightly effervescent, spiced prune-ish on the front, lightly metallic, then herbal bitter-sweetness and licorice-like undertones develop on top of the more lingering fruitiness as of oxidised pears or apples, along with a touch of lactic sour-sweetness and tannic hawthorn fruits. The finishing touch is somewhat… rusty, lightly lactic as well as slightly tannic, while the hop bitterness is not here to shine apart from lending a balancing weight overall.
M&O: lightly effervescent and creamy on the palate, witnessing good bottle-conditioning, the body remains medium given the 8.3%abv. and the alc. hides pretty well in general. This generally semi-balanced Tripel has fruit esters dominating the theme while malts come slightly less than necessary to render a “gravity” in the middle. All in all, this beer is far superior to the same brewery’s Blonde that I tried last night, but as far as Tripel is concerned I find it a rather simplistic interpretation.

Cool bottle, great marketing. Pours a light apricot ale with a thick quilt of fine creamy foam. Smells of funky hay, a bit of grassy hops, some mint and pine, a sweet yeast and hint of coriander. A nice grainy, corny thick pilsner like triple ale. This is an atypical beer and I like it' nice and earthy with good character. Medium on thick body with tight assertive carb and an off dry finish. Nice beer.

A: Light straw with a huge blond head, great retention & lace.

S: Candied pineapple & papaya, steelie/metallic, light earthiness and subtle hints of phenolic spicing.

T: Dried fruit (pineapple, papaya and mango), earthy, steelie/metallic, wheaty biscuit, light phenolic spicing, good bitterness, hints of brett-like acidity.

M: Well-attenuated moderate body has a crisp, dry finish.

D/O: None of the flavours are over-the-top, but they're really well integrated and it's a very nice drinker.

Caged and corked brown jug that I believe was bottled Jan. 2011 poured into Mc Chouffe goblet. Thanks to my buddy Brian for thinking of me on his trip to Europe.
A: Pours a clear light golden with an enormously billowing bright white head that slowly faded into a rocky film that left chunks of sticky lacing down the glass.
S: Sweet fruits including pear and bit on ripe banana, peppery Belgian spices, and a good dose of sweet candied sugar.
T: Follows the nose with sweet flavors of fruit, sugar and spices. I get notes of pear, golden apple juice, banana, clove, Belgian yeast, and a touch of earthy, herbal hops. The finish is candy sweet, and the aftertaste is lightly bitter and spicy.
M: Body is definitely thickened up by the massive amount of carbonation, but the bubbles are soft and create a creamy mouthfeel.
O: Good sweet fruity tripel that I enjoyed to drink. Definitely not my favorite though, but there’s nothing really wrong with this one. It definitely looked like a good tripel should. Thanks again bbb099.

A: Nice golden brown hazy color with a generous head of fine white bubbles with tight lacing.

S: It has a very Saisony smell with light fruits and sour notes. Smells very pale and lightly malted.

T: Very floral flavor with hints of pale lemon and Belgian yeast. It has a faint spiciness and a slight sour aftertaste. The alcohol is present as it warms.

M: It is light bodied but heavy on the pallet, lingering with a very Belgian strong pale ale sort of way.

D: Very nice beer, a little over priced here in Vancouver but still a very smooth and floral beer.

Neat-but-gimmicky earthenware bottle/jug with a caged cork that is a little too small for this beer. One little nudge and it fire off, heading straight up with a loud pop. Not sure how far it would have gone, as my ceiling interrupted its flight and sent it angling off to the other side of the room.

Ridiculously foamy white head, though I was expecting this. The beer itself is kind of a cloudy golden-orange. The head settles down reasonably quickly and leaves a mess of lacing on the glass, almost like a broken latticework.

Sweet, fruit smell with a bit of cloves and pepper to the nose. Apples and candi sugar mingle in there. Slightly tart finish.

Very mild taste, light fruit sugars. Slight apple taste. Somewhat sour as it warms, increasing as it hits the back of the tongue. A a little bit of caramel and clove in there too.

Nice mouthfeel. It starts off a bit high on the carbonation but opens up nicely. A bit cloying and at 8.3% this is a sipper. Not one I'd repeate in a night, but not a bad beer overall.

50cl bottle from an Auchan: Caged and corked bottle. The cork came out easily, with only a muffled "pop". This one pours a slightly hazy, lighter golden color, There was quite the head of white foam on top. It leaves one lacing as it subsides. Somewhat lighter aroma for a triple, but what was there is nice. Bready, yeasty, clove, mild other spices and some apple are noted. Faint apples, as well as some other fruit notes in the taste. Some wheat and malt flavors. Slightly sweet, with no hops noticeable. Drinks easy. A nice beer.

A-Comes in earthen jug. Cloudy golden brownish-orange apple cider-like color w/frothy white head, good retention.

S-Malty w/spice, apple, pear and flowers.

T&M-Similar to nose: light fruit, apple, faint apricot, spicy, lightly toasted malt, slightly sweet, minerals in finish and aftertaste.

D-Highly drinkable, alcohol is well-hidden.
