The newer and larger of Elliot Bay's two brewpubs houses a subterranean 10-bbl brewery and draws considerable patronage from the Burien community. The tall ceilings and spacious floorplan provide for an abundance of seating, a long wooden bar, a few shuffleboards, and a sequestered banquet room. The vibe is business class with subdued lighting, dark wood, and classic styling. But a strong neighborhood feel keeps the place rooted and local. Children are welcome and are frequently seen.
Beer selection is broader than one might expect. The house features about 19 taps including two guest casks, a framboise, cider, and root beer. This still leaves a half dozen regular Elliott Bay beers, three Belgian-style house specialty ales, and a range of seasonals. There is however, a bit of duplication among beer styles with up to three or four IPAs and two imperial IPAs offered concurrently. Quality is generally very good, though my first several beers were problematic and I left with the impression that EB's West Seattle location delivered a better product.
Food is American bistro with a variety of seafoods and international influence. Servings are large, prices reasonable, and service is worthy and charmed. The house also incorporates a number of environmentally sustainable practices such as running its delivery truck on biodiesel and recycling food waste. Most house beers are certified organic.
Though it's not difficult to find better beers if you travel afield, my bottom line endorsement is that if I lived in Burien, I'd probably visit Elliott Bay frequently.

We went there for dinner with our toddler early (4:15ish) on a Friday.
Atmosphere is fairly run-of-the-mill. It has the look and feel of mid- to low-end places like the Ram, BJ's, Rock Bottom, but doesn't seem trashy at all. It's more like a restaurant that happens to have some brewing equipment walled off in a corner.
Quality of the beer, however, is generally better than such places. They make interesting stuff, and they make it well, and they take care of it. There staff tends to know about the beers (with some exceptions).
Service was good. Our waitress came by frequently, and got everything right. Food was good (a Cuban sandwich and a mahi mahi sandwich), but not very special.
Prices seemed slightly high -- on the low end of what I would classify under BA's $$$.

Great atmosphere, not too claustrophobic, very inviting appearance. Parking can bean issue during peak times. This is a place that I could see myself in repeatedly and for ling periods. Their glycol system was down for the day so only 4 beers were available on tap, which they used a classic plastic cooler as a tap box. I had the ahi tuna ( or some delicious fish) taco- it was effin amazing! My wife had the portabello mushroom burger and loved it, as did my brother in law love his massive looking Cuban sandwich.

Stopped in here on a Saturday afternoon, pulled a seat at the corner of the bar. Outside takes up a big corner of strip mall. Parking was no problem. Walking in it was larger than the W Seattle location. Batherooms off to the right back behind the bar area. Big long bar agaist the back wall with lots of bar seating...a major plus. They must have had 16 house beers and 2 casks, one was Boundary Bay and other was a Maritime ESB. I had BA Bwine, IIPA and wife had Coffee Stout on nitro. Food was good, really cool people at the bar kept us entertained. Beer selection was solid. Prices were reasonabis. Staff is friendly. My wife and I really liked this place and will be back LOTS!

last stop of the seattle cruise. recommended that we go here and talk to doug by joel from two beers. doug was getting ready to teach his servers about the brewing side of the operation. the tender of the bar was sweet enough to track him down and doug invited us down for the tour with his employees. like everyone, these guys are doing some barrel aging, bourbon, wine, and tabasco. hell, yes, tabasco. they didn't have any of that stuff on, (some went to strangebrew) but it was cool nonetheless. 12-15 beers on tap, some really cool strong ales, some bourbon barrel stuff, couple cask beers, a few guest taps, some really nice pub food. nice little system with plenty of room for the brewhouse to grow downstairs. at least in the barrel/keg storage dept.

Elliot Bay Brewhouse and Pub in Burien is an excellent watering hole. They routinely pour about 12-16 of their own beers year round as well as several rotating taps and two cask conditioned beers pouring from beer engines. The brewers here love hops, and aggressive palate hitters, which works from me. They have several beers above 120IBU that seem to only last a week or so because they are so popular. They also commonly brew beers above 6% ABV. Several available in the 7-9% range. They also routinely will have barley wines and barrel aged beers. I recently got a bourbon stout and a syrah porter. Their brewers seem to always have something new and special for you to try every time your in. They also have the largest variety of certified organic beers in the state of Washington.
The food here is great. Most of it is organic and from sustainable farms. The burgers and fish and chips are definitely worth trying. Also they have great nachos and fresh chili and soup made daily.
The service here is above average. Most of the employees love beer and will be able to discuss and direct you to find you something to your liking or expand your horizons. There are also many familiar faces once you've been here a few times. Makes for good conversation and comfortable settings.
The atmosphere is good. Families are allowed which can sometimes be strange to have children running around by the bar but it also lends itself to being a community centered drinking house. They have full sized shuffleboard tables which can make for a good night of drinking and fun.

This place is great! When you walk in it has a bit of a Colorado Mountain Home quality to it. Do not be put off by this or the size of the place. Saddle up to the bar and try some delicious goodness on tap. I spent a good deal of time here chatting w/ Michael Goldsmith, the manager of the joint. Apparently this place gets the majority of its power from clean (wind,solar) sources and is incorporating alot of organic material into its beer and food. They are also cultivating a belguim yeast for a signature brew! The chef is given open reign over the menu and has put out a nice selection of grub to go with the brew, plus he cooks with it! Overall a great place to spend some time with a warm feel to it. Go and enjoy!
