On Tap at TJ Maxim's in Albany. Pours amber with white head and some carbonation. Body is full and crisp. Taste and aroma is of bready malt, buckwheat, earthy hops and some fruity esters. Finish is long and earthy. Nothing special IPA. I would not buy a six pack.

Pours bright amber with a decent, pretty persistent white head. It's a welcoming sight.

The nose is Cascade and Ringwood yeast - butter & citrus. The flavors start out with a nice balance of round malt, citrusy hop flavor, and a firm bitterness. Mid-sip the diacetyl comes in a bit strong, certainly stronger in the bottled version (made at Shipyard) than on tap at the brewery. The finish is like the nose, buttery and hoppy, with the bitterness tipping the arm-wrestling match in favor of the hops.

Good in the bottle, but at the brewery it's even better balanced and somewhat cleaner - one of many fine brews available there.

Pours clear . orangy color. not much head or lace. Resiny and piney hop notes. Light hop flowers and resin in the nose Nicely balanced with sweet malt. Very resiny hop finish and lingering hop noes. Definitly not mega hopped, but more of a subtle IPA style. I like it, its drinkable and smooth. Probably wouldnt do it if your looking for a real hoppy IPA.

12 oz bottle at fridge temp poured into a snifter. Best before NOV 2013 notched.

Pours a slightly hazy golden orange color, more orange. Thin white head fades to a ring. Mild lacing.

The nose is nothing special. More sweet malt than any kind of big hop a touch of buttery diacityl.

Grassy, lemon citrus balanced by a bit of sweet malt. Finishes with a bit of resiny bitterness. Nothing mind blowing, average.

This definatly drinks more like a pale ale rather than an IPA. Nothing special here. I wouldn't recommend it.

It pours a nice color and had a nice white head. The first thing I smelled was buttery notes then some floral notes. The hops in this one are subdued and could have passed as a Pale Ale. It was a good brew but I did detect a strong diacetyl presence which I think took away from the crispness of this IPA.

A: A medium golden that is just slightly amber. Clear with a big off-white head that turns just barely rocky as it settles. A few rising bubbles. Fair to good for retention and lace.

S: Frutiy in an estery, peachy manner. A hint of diacetyl. Rather faint, steely caramel & toasty grain malt notes. Slightest hint of sweetness. Hunting for hops does not turn up much. Perhaps a slight, faint herbal notes.

T: Sadly like the nose. Quite strong peachy, fruity esters. Slightly more than a background hint of diacetyl. Herbal and astringent hops that are not all that strong. Hops turn woody and earthy and resiny in the finish and finally take on some decent bitterness. Thin grainy malts provide what passes as a backbone with just a bit of toasty grain & hints of steely caramel and sweetness.

M: Slightly under medium body with average carbonation. Very few sugars or dextrins. Only mild hop tannins. End up drying, but malts didn’t but up hardly any fight. Quite attenuated & dry to start with. A tad thin for an IPA, but decent overall.

D: Sort of odd – particularly for an IPA. Light and thin for style. Oddly estery, astringent, and herbal. Mix of malts, hops, esters, & slight diacetyl is just kind of weird. Fair for washing down grub, but not at all great drinking.

Clear yellow/orange, not too visibly carbonated. Solid lacing and a stalwart 1/8inch head.

Nose is a good deal off from smoking, chili, and a cold...but it smells like light hops, crisp and with a small measure of florality. Is florality a word? It smells a bit like flowers.

Flavor is passable--reminds me of a regular, rather than India, Pale Ale. Marginal hop bite, moderate-to-low hop dryness, and not floral or fruity much atall. Very smooth and possesses a significant texture, creamy but carbonated--perhaps the strongest aspect of the brew.

Slight tang in the aftertaste. There's the tiniest most incredibly small hint of a touch of a whisper of graininess in the mouthfeel...but as I said, excellent body and texture. Lacking in hops and interesting flavor. Highly drinkable due to unassuming character combined with luscious tactile sensations.

A good looking beer, reddish gold, with light carbonation and a rapidly dying head. Smells like a Scotch ale, somewhat fruity with just a smidge of malts under it. Malts and hops make an appearance on the toungue in near equal proportions, with malts winning in the end. Fruity, with a smokey, wooden flavor. Interesting. Smooth, and fairly light bodied. It has a pleasant flavor overall, but a slightly unfinished feel lessens the drinking total for the afternoon. Bet it is good on tap, perhaps a little fresher than my well travel bottle.

Pours a light amber/coppery color, nice size off-white head that slowly diminishes, leaves good lacing. Buttery ringwood yeasty aromas are dominant, but fairly well backed by a nice piney, citrus hop aroma. Flavor has a lot of butterscotch, ends with a strong hop bitterness. Medium body, mild carbonation. Very similar to the Shipyard Fuggles IPA (Davidson's bottles are contract brewed at Shipyard), but with more PNW hop character than the more British character of the Shipyard.
