my first beer from Davidson bros, and its a winner. nitro tap does this a lot of favors I have a feeling. the pour is rich and creamy brown, just like a Guinness, with the same thick tan milkshake foam. the nose has some coffee amidst the dark roasty barley and the slightly spicy yeast. the flavor is bitter dark chocolate, earthy raw coffee, and a sweet oatmeal cereal finish. very complex, very layered, very well balanced, a perfect illustration of the style. the lower abv makes it easy to drink a lot of, even though its got a lot of body and only soft carbonation from the nitro. I love the creamy feel, I love the depth of flavors, and I will be keenly looking out for more stuff from these guys.

Got a 20oz pint at Drop Off Service in the East Village. It appeared pitch black with a thick tan head. This is a rich and creamy oatmeal stout, but not too heavy. It's got that great toasty, cookie-like roast of a good oatmeal stout. The finish had a pleasant dry bitterness with a little cocoa. This is a tasty beer, definitely worth a second pint.
