Lovely clear light chestnut ale with a light tan head. Not much lace but a thin covering stays on top. Nose is sweet with caramel and light toffee. A healthy English fruitiness from the yeast sits atop the aroma of warm bakery rolls and hearty breads. Mild earthiness from the hops mixes with a faint mineral edge. Taste is spot on for the style.Light in character, rich in flavor and complexity. Caramel, toffee, bread and light nuttiness. Hops are firm but not overdone and make for a clean dry finish. Classic mineral qualities along with an excellent yeast fruitiness makes this a true English style brew. Feel is light and crisp, with mild carbonation and weight. Low abv makes this a standout session ale. Superb drinkability and satisfaction make this one a real winner for fans of English ales. Drink cool not cold to enjoy the full flavor.

12 oz bottle at fridge temp poured into a snifter.

Pours out a fairly clear brown almost deep red color. Decent looking off white head from the pour that holds a nice layer. Spotty lace.

Weak aroma. Fruity esters with almost a mineral lager thing going on. Don't really get any of that nutty malt I get in the taste.

The taste is mostly sweet nutty malt, some biscuit, with the same fruity and mineral esters found in the aroma. Hints of brown sugar. Actually not as terrible of a taste as the aroma suggested, still nothing to write home about.

Light bodied, bitey carbonation.

Good drinkability is really all this beer has going for it. Not something to seek out.
