So we were up this way and finally made it in. Great old building located right on the main drag. Large outdoor seating area with umbrellas in the like located in the old service alley. The inside of the pub was very cozy. Big copper kettle visable right up front. The bar was old (in the good way). Walls were covered with old beer stuff. The service was excellent from the top down. The brewer even stopped by to see what we thought of the beers. I had the IPA which was good and the lady had the scotch ale which was really good. I got the Buffalo Chicken soup which was stellar. Had a burger after that and it was good. This place does a very brisk business and after visiting I know why. Lunch was very reasonably priced and good. Will definitely stop by again if up North.

Been revisiting Davidson's from time to time in hopes that i might not be disappointed. I'm really not one to send a beer back to the bar but had to with their scottish ale. At least the batch i got was undrinkable. I am mostly an IPA drinker (with a broad range of appreciation) and have only had mediocre at best from these guys. I was also very disappointed to learn that they don't even brew their own beer on location. It is shipped down from Maine.
If you do end up here be sure to get the beer battered onion rings !
Here's to hoping their beer will one day match their quaint location.

A restaurant and brewery with better food than beer, really. The beer is all serviceable, some very tasty (the scotch ale and oatmeal stout, especially) but some really watery, kinda poor beer (the smoked porter was gross). The food however, is delicious, and the space in Glens Falls is beautiful. The owner, Rick Davidson, is one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet, and is constantly walking around and asking customers what they think of everything. The rest of the staff is similarly nice. Worth a stop if you're in the area, but not worth a big drive just for the beer alone.
