Next to Blue Monk and CH Evans, one of the pioneers with a great location and atmosphere.

English style brewery and beer venue, with a long bar and dining room with lots of seating. The food is very good, the beer is ok and somewhat limited in styles (very little darks).

This is a very nice looking brewpub with a large selection, very good service, and good food. The beer was awful. Every beer tasted the same, skunked. I've had their beer on tap elsewhere and enjoyed it. My only assumption is they don't clean their lines.

Of course I always like to try new places when I travel, and today that place was Davidson Brothers. Classic basic pub vibe, nice bar and plenty of seating. Rustic wood and random paraphernalia everywhere. There was a decent selection of beer to choose from, with many different styles. Unfortunately, the beers were pretty much terrible. Like, every one was bad in the sampler of 6 that I had. They all had very bad off-flavors, and we (the wife and I) pretty much had to choke them down. They were like very bad homebrews, done with obvious amateur mistakes. But they sell bottles by the case here, and have apparently been brewing for 20 years, so I guess someone is buying this swill and enjoying it.

Service was okay, not great. One thing that was a major turn-off was the automatically added tip to the bill. I'm a good tipper, only giving less than 18-20% if there's a major issue with the service. But regardless, tipping is at my discretion, and should be on my terms. I might want to give more or less, depending on what happened during the visit. Overall, adding an auto tip might be a good idea, to keep cheapskates from copping out, but I still personally don't approve. Just another reason to keep me from coming back here.

The food was also okay, not great. Basic pub grub on the menu for the most part. I had the turkey melt, which was decent.

Overall, this seems like no more than a homer spot. Locals probably love it, since it's been in business so long. But with lousy beer, so-so service, and mediocre food, I wouldn't recommend going out of your way to go to this place, and I definitely won't be going back. Overall, quality-wise, this could be the worst brewery I've ever been to.

I had high hopes for this one. The atmosphere is great, the food was good, the beer was nothing special but some of their stuff was alright. Unfortunately, the service was horrendous I really hope it was just our waitress but she was miserable

Been revisiting Davidson's from time to time in hopes that i might not be disappointed. I'm really not one to send a beer back to the bar but had to with their scottish ale. At least the batch i got was undrinkable. I am mostly an IPA drinker (with a broad range of appreciation) and have only had mediocre at best from these guys.

update: DO NOT GO HERE. owner is an asshole. physically and verbally abuses the staff. on top of that, refuses to allow staff to collect tips for their work. beer still sucks.

A restaurant and brewery with better food than beer, really. The beer is all serviceable, some very tasty (the scotch ale and oatmeal stout, especially) but some really watery, kinda poor beer (the smoked porter was gross). The food however, is delicious, and the space in Glens Falls is beautiful. The owner, Rick Davidson, is one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet, and is constantly walking around and asking customers what they think of everything. The rest of the staff is similarly nice. Worth a stop if you're in the area, but not worth a big drive just for the beer alone.

Great atmosphere. I'm working on a project in the area and decided to stop in and grab a bite and some brew. I've had the fish tacos, beer cheese soup, and the calamari appetizer. All good so far, but calamari a was a little soggy. Now onto the brew; Oatmeal stout is very good; I've been back to fill the growlers five times so far. Also enjoy their coffee stout, had a growler fill on that. Rick Davidson, owner, is always out and about greeting customers and adding to the great atmosphere. Will be back!

Arrived just as the pub openned on our way up to Lake Placid. Was looking to get a growler of smoked porter which I got.
We didn't eat here here but my wife and I did at one time maybe ten years ago.
The place looks very inviting. I was talking to the bartender while he was filling my growler and it's a pretty old building, 1864 I believe he said and was an old textile factory. Lots of brick and exposed wooded beams. Looks nice. You can purchase some sixpacks of thier beers to if you like also.

I grew up nearby, so Davidson's was really my first exposure to craft beer. I stopped going years ago for a number of reasons (poor service, bad food, no A/C inside, mediocre beers), but I have revisited a number of times in the last few years when home visiting family. Sadly, the only improvement is the addition of A/C inside. I haven't eaten there in years, so I won't comment on that. But the beers are still just bad. They probably make the worst IPA I've ever had and the only beer I've ever really enjoyed there was Dacker, and that's not really even their beer. The Oatmeal Stout is decent, but not extraordinary and the Scotch Ale is very boozy. I don't know what hops they use in the Alt, but damn is that biting on the tongue, and not in a good hophead way. My biggest complaint will always be the owner, Rick. The guy is a pompous jerk and his attitude has spread to the bartenders over the years. I brought a group there the night before a wedding this past summer and ordered a round of drinks (8 beers, 2 cocktails). We were sitting outside, so I had to go inside and order the drinks, and then bring them back outside with me. None of the servers or barstaff offered to help. After I brought all of the drinks out, I came back in and asked for two pitchers of water. Was told they don't do pitchers of water. I then asked for ten glasses of water and got a "pffft" from the bartender. I hate this place, I really do. Don't waste your time or money here. If you're stuck in Glens Falls and want beer, go to Wallabee's. If you want dinner, go to the Gourmet Cafe , 132 Glen, Raul's, of the Chocolate Mill. Do not give Rick Davidson your business, he doesn't deserve it.

Found the atmosphere was enhanced by the owner Rick working the bar and dinning room going table to table to take a few minutes to talk to his customers. The staff was excellent and at times took their cue from Rick's banter. The food was excellent we had stuffed shrimp and filet. Soup was seafood bisque made on site and taste great. All this and a American wheat made for a very pleasant dinner. We can't wait to come in the summer when they have outside seating and live music three nights a week. We will be eating here evry chance we get.

The Short-We were the only tourists at the bar, AND we were the only ones overcharged at the bar. Coincidence?

The Long-We stopped in for a couple pints last week at 4:30pm. We sat at the bar, and ordered 2 rounds of beer (identical beers). We paid cash each time, and our change was different from the 2 bartenders. I asked the bartender why we had different (smaller) glasses than the other patrons, and we explained they are mug club members, the benefits which included bigger glasses, and happy hour prices. I asked when happy hour was, and he said it goes until 6:30. He, however, had to go ask the other bartender when happy hour started. (REALLY A bartender who doesn't know when happy hour is?). It's starts at 3:30 (Allegedly)

I asked why our change was different between the 2 rounds. He goes and huddles with the other bartender. He comes back and says that the other bartender doesn't know how to correctly ring in beer at happy hour prices when you pay in cash. (REALLY a bartender in a brewery can't correctly sell beer for cash?)

We were over charged $2 and he gave us back a dollar, and asked if that was alright. I then asked if the fact that we weren't locals might have led to the overcharging, and he looked at me blank faced.

The owner had been running around setting up a musician, and I explained our question. He asked where our slips were. I said we paid cash and had no slips. He responded "EVERYONE HAS SLIPS!", and ran around to the bartenders asking where our slips were. They spent a couple of minutes looking for slips, and we left disgusted.

Interestingly, the bartender who explained the problem to us, and could have ended all the looking for slips, never once mentioned the problem to his owner.

No beer prices listed. Bartenders who are incompetent at best and thieves at worst. WATCH OUT FOR YOUR WALLET.

Had the opportunity to visit The Davidson Brothers Restaurant & Brewery while visiting a friend that lives not far from Glenns Falls.
The Brewpub is located right in the downtown area, the atmosphere is very welcoming.
We stopped in for a few afternoon beers and sat right at the bar.
I ordered the Danish Continental Lager and recieved a short pour as the keg kicked so I moved onto the Scottish Ale, very drinkable!
I am looking forward to visiting again and having a chance to try the Ctrl-Alt-Del.

Went here after taking my son to a show at the Glens Falls Civic center. It's in a great part of town and in the middle of everything. The restaurant is small & quaint, but very homey. The enviroment is perfect for families or the night life. The quality of everything is great. The service was a little slacking and it took forever to get our drinks. The food was also amazing. The portions are huge and I had an appetizer for dinner they were so big. Pricing is great and the tasting flight was definitely worth the price. A must stop if you're in the area.
