Housed in the previous discontinued Taco Mac location facing Town Center Mall. When Taco Mac rightfully vacated the spot they were outgrowing, their former manager decided to remain and open up a place of his own, Highlands Grill. He had a good interest in craft beer, even bringing in a Randall and keeping a generally decent, rotating selection of brews.
Now under new ownership, the interest in craft beer has cooled quickly, with macros replacing micros in both the draught and bottle selection. I'd suspect tap line maintenance has also been discontinued. Ask a staff member about cleaning the tap lines and they'll likely look at you like you're speaking Chinese.
The food has remained perpetually greasy, fried, and wholly unappealing, even after a few beers, though it's fairly commonplace at any neighborhood sports bar.
The interior seems dilapidated and has taken on a rather grody appearance due to lack of upkeep. A scrap against the walls might require a tetanus shot. Now, it's just a dirty dive bar with a sports leaning, a place for cheap pictures of mass-produced beer and Irish Car Bombs.
But take heart and don't despair, for there's a lovely new Taco Mac just a couple miles down the road!

This place is gross. The wait staff is nice but have no interest in beer because they sell more coors light and blue moon than anything else. The lines are all dirty. They had depth charge on tap and it was very off tasting. I had to ask what the side project they had for terrapin, because it was just the side project tap handle, and the bartender had to ask what it was. It is sad that such a good beer got wasted through dirty lines here. I had Sweetwater festive and it had a taste of a Hefeweizen. Bit old and dirty tasting. I know these beers well and they should not taste like this. I only go when I am dragged there. The food is not good and is greasy.

Will never return to.
It used to be a decent beer bar north of Atlanta. That was until a new owner took over and got rid of the people who knew about beer and got rid about good beer.
He removed Stone Ruination to put on Keystone!!! Are you serious?
The food is awful, and the servers are bimbos. Instead of hiring servers who know what they are doing, the new owner hired young girls to surround himself in what appears to be some mid life crisis he must be having.
I recommend going to Taco Mac or Summits if you are in the Kennesaw/Woodstock/Marietta area. And if you want to go somewhere to see girls this isn't the place either. Awful awful awful place.
The food is overpriced, greasy, the portions are small, and my sister found a roach in her salad!

I love this place!
The staff does a great job in presenting the new beers (they do get alot...) and really seem to be into the beers as well. Other local beer bars(not saying the names...but Bob the mgr got transfered...and well.. the selection went down) really don't seem to have the love of brew as this place. In fact, I was there yesterday and they were all stoked that Stone would be on draft the next day... kinda like a kid on Xmas eve.
They also run a Dogfish Head Randall hop infuser on certain sundays... and have alot of fun with the different combos that can come out of that wonderful device.
they need more taps with more micro brews... and the bartenders all need to get haircuts! (hippy-fied HA!)

This location used to be the Taco Mac which moved to Chastain. You can expect pretty much the same type layout and selection; the main difference seems to be the change of name and uniform. While they don't have the Passport Club here they still do a Thursday Night Pint Glass Night which can add a little variety to the rotation. I visited right after the reopening, and because of this it wasn't very crowded but the wait staff was extra helpful. It has just as much potential as any other sports bar, and the fact that it isn't a chain I feel boosts the atmosphere.
