Notes from 3/21
This beer pours a pitch black with a frothy white head. Huge scum sticks to the side of the glass making the lacing very pleasing to the eye.
There is a big spicy smell to this brew. Nutmeg, Cinnamon, All-spice, this doesn't smell like a porter. There is a touch of vanilla in there somewhere.
Big sips of this reveal a big malty taste that leads to some unpleasant vanilla flavoring. The vanilla tastes either fake or really out of place with the rest of the flavors. Soon after, some hop bitterness shines through which is chalky and overpowering. A minute after swallowing, my mouth tastes like dirt which seems to be a trend amongst the beers I've had there.
The mouthfeel is rather thin, hard to think about this with the bad aftertaste.
The drinkability of this is severely hampered by the aftertaste. The only incentive for drinking this quickly is to minimize the aftertaste.

A-Deep, copper tinged brown with a creamy light tan head that held strong and left copious lace.
S-Sweet vanilla cream soda kick with roasted malt support.
T-Sweet roasty malt with added punch from vanilla and chocolate goodness. This is like an adult vanilla/chocolate cream soda.
M-Medium bodied and silky smooth with long lasting sweet vanilla and bitter chocolate flavours.
D-Awesome...so tasty and smooth. This was the best beer during our Right Brain tasting session. Too bad we drained the keg and scored the last half-pint. I surely could have drank more of this delicious nectar!
