I stopped at RIght Brain after watching the Red Wings play in town yesterday. I couldn't make a decision as to what beer I wanted so I decided to go with a flight of six. The Flying Squirrel brown ale was one of favorites out of the bunch. It was a perfect beer to go with the changing of the seasons. The nutty and chocolaty notes were just about right and the carbonation was spot on. Next time you're in town go check it out and make sure this is one of the ones you get. (474 characters)

22 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled on 9/10/2013. Pours slightly hazy dark brown color with a nice 2 finger dense tan head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass. Aromas of big caramel, chocolate, toast, toffee, molasses, nuttiness, brown bread, light roast, herbal, and toasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/nutty malt notes; with good strength. Taste of caramel, chocolate, toast, toffee, molasses, nuttiness, brown bread, light roast, light herbal, and toasted earthiness. Minimal bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of caramel, chocolate, toast, toffee, molasses, nuttiness, brown bread, light roast, and toasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice complexity, balance, and robustness of dark/nutty malt flavors; with zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a moderately creamy and smooth mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is an excellent brown ale! All around great balance, complexity, and robustness of dark/nutty malt flavors; and very smooth to drink. A very enjoyable offering. (1,241 characters)

Smokey, nutty, nice carbonation, lace head and a smooth aftertaste. Sampler on tap. (83 characters)
