Brewed to help out the local beer drinkers wallet, imperial pints for $3!
A-Slightly hazy golden copper with a cream colored head that looks like a Tempur-pedic memory foam! Head last throughout and laces copious, caking lace.
S-Lightly floral with a nice spiciness from the EKG hops. A bit of pear fruitiness in the background helping to support the biscuit malt. A subtle hint of earthiness too.
T-Earthy spiciness up front with a healthy biscuit malt base. Hop bitterness dominates from start to finish and help ends this one rather astringent.
M-Medium-light with surprising long lasting bitterness. Smooth beginning with a sharp finish.
D-Superb! A wonderful example of style. All that flavour without all the alcohol. I really liked the nitro delivery but PLEASE put this one on the hand pull!

Served on nitro @ the brewpub on 6/13/09.
Pours a hazy orange copper with a finger of tight bright white head. Retains with about half that, with a rich and frothy look that coats the sides of the glass with thick lacing. The aroma is very fresh, floral, and lightly spicy, with a solid tang of bread and citrus behind it. This is VERY fresh and pleasant in the nose.
The taste starts with the lightly toasted breadiness of the malts mixing with a splash to citrus to form a silky backbone of tang. This nicely supports the moderate bitterness of the East Kent Golding hops that are used. Finishes with a pleasant dry and spicy bitterness that lingers. The mouthfeel is light-medium bodied with a surprisingly crisp feel to this despite being served on nitro. The firmness of this plays nicely off of the spicy hop profile, yet this is still very easy feeling in the mouth. I'm not sure of the ABV but it felt around the 4% range maybe?
ReSession is right on, as this is a nicely flavored Best Bitter with a huge drinkibility to it. And at $3 for a 20 oz pour, it won't hurt your pockets to re-up again and again.
