Snowbunny Ale exhibits pleasant notes of caramel with a heady vanilla nose which play against a creamy background. Enjoy it on its own or after a meal for the perfect dessert.

12 oz. bottle served in a shaker pint glass. Thanks, I guess, to Benjiehorn (Ben) for passing along this distributor sample. Please don't pick them up.

A: Pours a chilled amber with a one finger, off white head forming on the pour. It recedes to a thin collar and leaves no lace down the glass.

S: Vanilla sweetness, creamy sugar and pale malts with some mild hops.

T: More pale malts with a creamy vanilla ice cream finish. There is a buttery like toffee in there giving it an overall cream soda vibe. Not my cup of tea.

M: Medium bodied with barely any carbonation. Makes it a little tough to get down, some how it has a drying quality. I really don't know.

O: If you like chalky cream soda, this is your go-to beer. The lack of feel in the mouth really hurt it as well. I hope I don't see this distributed in Illinois anytime soon.

For a recent Xmas Party, my neighbor provided a Snowbunny Ale from Hub City. The beer pours a clear medium copper color, with a long lasting light brown head. The scent includes vanilla, nut meg and clove. The taste follows the scent....vanilla, nut meg, and clove dominate this beer. The mouthfeel is a medium to light with decent carbonation. Overall this is a decent winter beer....any more than two would be agressive.

Pumpkin amber with a creamy ivory cap that shrinks to a skim. Vanilla is the main aroma here with a whiff of grain. Once again vanilla dominates the flavor and is really overpowering. The base beer is not big enough to stand up to or complement the vanilla for me, I guess it depends on how you feel about vanilla. The dlavor is not unlike vanilla ice cream. Light bodied and a little sticky. This one is not for me.

Pours a medium head with a hazy dark orange-brown body. Nose is sweet and spice with hints of vanilla.

Taste is creamy, kind of sweet with malt and a little citrus in the back ground. A little thin or watery tasting overall. The finish is more malty. Overall drinkable but not my favorite.

I bought a Hub City 6-pack sampler from Woodman's in Janesville, WI for $7.79 in Spring 2011.

Pours a medium brown color with a fast diminishing head. Some scents of roasted malts are evident giving it an almost smoked type of scent. Drinks slightly lighter than a milk stout. You can definetly tell this is a cream ale. The flavor could be a little more bold and the texture could be a little thicker. Definetly something different though.

A- Hazy amber with very thin head that quick dissipates to nothing. No lacing left.

S- Smells grassy.

T- Sweetness. Don't know the abv of this one but it seems you can taste the alcohol presence, although I doubt its very high. Somewhat sour ending.

M- Carbonation isn't bad, somewhat watery.

D- I'd have to pass on this if it were ever offered to me again. It wasn't terrible but nothing stood out as great or even good.

12 oz bottle into a pint glass

A: No head to speak of. Extremely cloudy amber orange. No lace.

S: Chalky vanilla. Sweet malt.

T: Huge vanilla. Almost too big. Tastes a little like a car air freshener. Banana candy flavors. A little chalky.

M: Dry. Unremarkble. Chaky and cloying.

D: Not my favorite. Worth a try but probably not a second.

A: Cloudy/Hazy orange. Zero head.

S: Faint caramel malts, tiny bit of orange peel.

T: This beer has a buttery Worthers caramel candy like flavour, with a slight vanilla bite, barely any hop, but over all the flavour is not strong and it tasted watered down.

M: Watery and almost no carbonation.

D: Pretty highly drinkable, due to the thinness of body, low carbonation and mild flavour.

My wife got this for me in a sampler, thanks MMB.
Poured into a pint glass this brew has a cloudy almost pinkish brown color with wild carbonation bubbles floating to the top however NO head to speak of. The aroma is full of vanilla and molasses. The taste leaves everything to desire. There is a slight cream soda taste up front but the finish and after taste is like seltzer water bland and bubbly. I appreciate the effort (from my wife) but this is not a good brew.

A- has a nice amber color to it. Nice and clear. No head what so ever.
S- Smell of nothing but vanilla. Nothing else there
T- All I can taste is vanilla. No bitterness or malt. Feels like there is no carbonation. 2nd bottle like this.

All and all not a very good beer.

A - Slightly dark caramel color with a very small foamy white head. Disappears fast leaving behind no lace.

S - Not much in the aroma here. Sweet caramel dominates what is there. Sweet and slightly malty aroma.

T - Taste is pretty much just caramel/butterscotch type of flavor. There is some off flavor as well that reminds me a bit of chapstick. Was searching for the vanilla, but couldn't really find any.

M - Light body with little carbonation. Flat, slightly smooth, and slight sticky/coating feel at the finish.

D - Don't really want to have another, it was pretty bland and uninspiring.

Notes: Not a big fan of this beer. It was bland and had a slightly off flavor. Didn't really fit any style nicely either. Probably won't be picking this up again.

A buddy of mine shared one of these with me. Glad he did.

Poured into sam adams sensory experience glass. Pours cloudy golden brown - a hint of golden yellow on the very edge when held up to the light. A small head that quickly settles into a ring. Nice looking overall.

Smells of...what is it...yes, vanilla. Cream soda.

Taste is creamy. A hint of vanilla but not too strong. Just right.

Mouthfeel is light. Not real complex. Smooth and just creamy enough. Leaves a vanilla taste as it rolls off the back of the palate. Carbonation is light to moderate. Not overpowering, just right.

Overall, I quite like this beer. One or two is enough in a sitting, but at that rate, very enjoyable.

Thanks to Dan for bringing this one over the other night. Pours a medium copper color, with a long lasting light brown head. The label advertises vanilla, but the nose showed no hints of it, but rather caramel, cereal and spice. On the palate, just a hint of the promised vanilla appears, but it may just be my imagination. A little caramel, and some light spicing.

Poured from 12 oz bottle, light amber color with a small head that disapated quickly; no lacing. Couldn't pick up anything on the nose. Taste of caramel and malt--label says vanilla but I couldn't really pick that up. Not a bad brew by any means but I doubt I'd seek this out again.
