Clear golden color with a thin head.
Moderate aroma of herbal hops, honey and sweet grains.
Flavor of cereals, malt sweetness and herbal hops. It has a mild bitterness.
Light body with medium carbonation.
A beer that is very easy to drink, session pleasant, but with no highlights.

You gotta taste this blind against other good lagers. It's fine, in tradition of better lagers Kingfisher, Stella, and Japanese lagers, and soon, in NJ, Carton "This Town".

A: Very tame appearance and aroma. It's crystal clear yellow, very short lived thin head, no retention, no lacing.
S: Too light, perhaps not fresh. After all the key to Lager is freshness.

T: Tastes great. It is malty but complex with additional flavors of biscuits, hops, lemon, grass.
M: Medium-bodied, clean on the palate, refreshing. Very nice finish.
O: I found this beer to be a solid example of refreshing summer lagers. A Decent LUNCH beer, or after cutting the grass.

Rec'd in WFM craft pack on 8.8.14.

12oz bottle poured into a pint glass.

A: Bright golden colors crystal clear. Large-bubbled white head settles after a bit. Lacing is negligible.

S: Sweet and grainy on the nose with notes of honey and dough. Slight metallic whiff. Grassy hops.

T: Grain, wet hay, sweet pilsner malt with doughy and honeyed tones. Steely. Hop bring some stiff bitterness, along with flavors that morph from grassy and floral, to oily with a zest of lemon. Grain and pithy lemon on the finish.

M: Light bodied. Full with a round, firm, and smooth feel. Great texture but low carbonation.

O: I won't say that I wasn't expecting much from a Lebanese brewery that I'd never heard of, but I will say that my expectations were exceeded. This is a surprisingly solidly-brewed lager coming from a part of the world where beer is virtually non-existent. Still, I question the decision to import this. It's definitely oxidized (what do you expect), and the American beer market is so competitive that I don't expect it will make much of a splash.

A: The beer is crystal clear yellow in color and has a moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a half finger high off white head that died down but left a thin layer of bubbles on the surface and a collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of bready and cracker malts are present in the nose along with hints of floral hops.
T: Much like the smell, the taste is quite malty but seems complex with additional flavors of biscuits. The hops contribute a light amount of bitterness.
M: It feels medium-bodied and clean on the palate with a moderate amount of carobnation.
O: I found this beer to be a very good representation of the style. It's easy to drink and while some lagers may seem bland this actually has complexity with flavors of different types of malts.

A German style Munich Helles Lager. So the color is a bit darker, more golden than the pale straw you get with most lagers on the market. The nose is pure malt, very clean. The beer pours with a two to three finger head of white foam. The taste and mouthfeel echo the nose. Malty up-front, a super clean finish, and just enough bitterness to remind you that this is a real beer. Very well balance lager that actually has some flavor.

This review is based on a 12 oz bottle. I've previously enjoyed this beer on tap.

A: The beer is a dark amber, clear, with modest lacing.

S: Smells like a beer. Pleasing but nothing distinctive in the nose.

T: Tastes like a classic lager. Moderately hoppy, little bitterness, definitely malty with distinct sweet notes cutting through. Unlike the spicier 961 pale ale, there's nothing to directly indicate the beer's origin.

M: The beer is moderately fizzy, which seems to lighten the mouthfeel a little bit. The alcohol content is muted, certainly a sessionable brew.

O: This is a very good lager, an upgrade from a Yuengling or a Sam Adams. The sweetness was no doubt accentuated by the slightly sour/citrusy Mediterranean meal that this beer accompanied. I will enjoy it again.

12 oz bottle. cant decipher this bottle coding. cool bottle cap.

A: crystal clear golden blond body. head is tightly bubbled and big. frothy lacing left behind.

S: a minor oxidation, minor dms, and metallic. not a good start. struggling to find anything else, hop or malt end.

T: definitely some dms going on here. finally getting a touch of malt and hops. rice? pretty plain, but this style is definitely no thrills. surprised im not getting some of the other aroma failures on the drink.

M: average carb on a very light body.

D: my first Lebanese beer. a tad disappointing as I don't think this traveled great and also maybe not brewed with the utmost of skill/technique/equipment. I know these are quite a few assumptions, but dms, oxidation, and metallic off-aromas are possible to avoid. pass.

A friend brought a bottle of this back from the US where apparently they had just launched. Not available here in France yet.

Pours out a dark gold with a nice two to three fingers of head. The nose is straightforward clean lager aroma. Taste is very well balanced between the malt and hops. For a lager, it actually has flavor! Enjoyed it and would have it again.

Served in a Lagunitas mason jar.

Whenever I'm presented with something that goes by simply "lager", I'm taken back to Chumbawumba. I'm thinking about seeking help... Anyway, this stuff pours a clear straw topped by a finger of lightly off-white foam. The nose brings a strange melange of musty apple juice and grain, with vague impressions of flowers tossed in every now and then for good measure. The taste focuses on the grain, mostly a wheaty visage, with the same sprinkling of flowers and a bit of mild grass to show that hops may actually have been used here at some point. Everything is overly mild and thoroughly muddled. The body is a hefty-leaning light, with a light moderate carbonation and a fluid feel. Overall, this just came across as a weak, bland, and, at times, downright crappy lager. So far, this is the bottom of the 961 barrel, but I've got a couple left, so we'll see if it can retain the title...

Pours gold with a small quickly fading head.
Nose shows honey, light spicy hops, soft vegetal notes and bready malt. Very sweet-smelling.
Flavours follow along the same lines. Quite sweet with lots of bready malt. Some of the hops show up too. Finishes with a very weak bitterness.

There seemed to be a few pouring difficulties from the bar tender, too much foam. However, in a pint mug, the 961 Lager shone a beautiful golden colour and smelt very inviting. It was served at a nice cool temperature, not freezing, and had a light sharp finish after the first gulp. Not too big a fan of the flavour nor the after taste but enjoyed it nonetheless!
