Having this as an after-meal brew/ treat... got to wash my mouth out for a fresh taste.

Was pleasantly surprised at the overall depth in flavor. The odor is overwhelmingly minty-chocolaty and you would think it would taste like a liquid York peppermint patty... quite the contrary.

Upon sipping, I experienced a forward flavor of mint-chocolate, followed by flavors of burnt vanilla and chocolate/ cocoa, in that order. I was quite impressed that this was evident with each sip and even more impressed by the overall drinkability and lack of booziness. Each sip and swallow was more refreshing than the previous.

I can't express how pleasant this beer was to drink, in an unsuspecting way. When you have tried Du Claw's Sweet Baby Jesus, you know it is like drinking a liquid Reese's cup.

Satan's Bake Sale is what you would expect when visiting Lucifer at his yearly fund-raiser... a beautiful selection of different flavor's and goodies- all in the same place!

Only gave it a 4.75 because let's face it, nothing in this world is perfect ;)

22oz bottle, generously extra'd by FleetwoodMatt. Poured into an unlabeled snifter today, 2/6/2014.

App- Typical imperial stout- dark black body, opaque, one finger white head with good retention. No lacing.

Smell- Very strong on the mint chocolate. Smells like liquid Andes chocolates. Unique, but not a ton of interesting smell here.

Flavour- Very minty, like an Andes chocolate bar. There's some dark chocolates and roast malts, but this is dominated by the mint. It's decent, interesting but not particularly amazing.

Mouthfeel- Thick bodied, creamy, good carbonation. Solid dry finish, nothing special.. just a ton of mint chocolate.

Overall- This beer delivers what is advertised. Not sure I like this, but this is at least an interesting extra to try should you get one in the mail.

Served on tap in a pint glass

Appearance – The beer is served a nearly pitch black color with a bit of tan foam on the surface of the brew. The head fades quite fast, leaving a trace level of lace on the sides of the glass.

Smell – The aroma of the beer was big of chocolate smells with a good deal of roasted malt. Along with these aromas are some sweet vanilla and caramel smells as well as a bit of a raisin and cherry smell. A very heavy amount of mint is there as well giving it an overall minty dark sweet chocolate smell.

Taste – The taste begins with a sweet chocolate flavor mixed with lots of roasted malt. A good level of vanilla and caramel sweetness are present from the start, with just some lighter amount of mint. While the mint is lighter at the start, it really grows quite intense as the flavor advances, melding very well with the sweet chocolate flavors of the brew. The roasted flavors of the taste dwindle a bit at the end, but are replaced by more sweet chocolate. With the transitions of flavors that occur throughout the taste, one is left with a nice sweet mint chocolate flavor to linger on the tongue.

Mouthfeel-The body of the beer is medium in its thickness and creaminess with a carbonation level that is on the lighter side. A slightly thicker and creamier body may have been a bit better for the mint chocolate flavors of the brew, but even with that said the lower carbonation was quite nice, and overall the mouthfeel of the brew was good.

Overall – This is a fantastic dessert beer. It tastes just like a mint chocolate bar. While not one I would want every day, for a sweeter dessert style beer, this one is fantastic.
