Seems Spring House likes some fruit in their ales.

This is a decent pale ale. The beer seems a little thick and clogged with hop character that is equally matched by fruit that is mildly pineapple at most, but not too firmly defined. Not a whole lot of specific character here. One thing I'd really change is the too strong of a carbonation. Decent enough though.

A - I heard some people say there might have been a bit of variance in the carbonation, but this was spot on. Reminded me of a Maine pale ale appearance, a bit more yellow.

S - Fresh and definitely a bit of a tropically rind.

T - Creamy, pineapple-y goodness. A bit of lemon and a grassy finish.

M - Light, fluffy, amazing. Feels creamy. A bit like Elysian Space Dust.

O - VERY impressed, I haven't been this excited about a pale ale in forever.

Bottle poured into teku

A: Crystal clear yellow/orange with a fluffy white head.

S: Grass hop nose with a faint hint of pineapple. Actually a bit surprised, I was expecting more pineapple citrus nose from the hops but the hops were definitely lending more earthiness. Pineapple appears to come from elsewhere, assuming pineapple juice.

T: Nice grass bitterness melded with a slight fruity pineapple juice. The malt is subtle and pretty nicely balanced with the hops. This is not an overly aggressive pale which is what I appreciate. The one thing I wish there was more of was more juicy pineapple flavor, it's very subtle.

M: Nice medium mouthfeel, good dry bitterness

O: This beer didn't blow me away but was very enjoyable. I was expecting a lot from a Pineapple Pale Ale, hoping for lots of juicy, citrusy hops but rather got a nicely balanced pale with a smooth malt bill and nice grassy hops (with a bit of citrus). The Pineapple comes in subtly in the form of either pineapple juice, fermented on pineapples, or (gasp) pineapple extract flavoring.

Pineapple pale ale...I have high expectations of a hoppy pale ale with a pineapple hint rather than citrusy.

A-golden, not a lot of bubbles, not a lot of head.

S-smells hoppy with a bit of pineapple, but unfortunately there's more of an adjunct syrupy scent here. Just smells like it's of very poor quality.

T-Fortunately this doesn't taste adjunct or syrupy. Comes in with a flavor of fruit punch and grains, though to be fair the fruit punch does lean more towards pineapple than other fruits. It's actually an okay flavor and then comes in a fairly impressive bitterness for an APA. The bitterness sticks.

M-medium dry carbonation with a dry finish

O-I like this. Doesn't look or smell right, but it has a good lasting flavor that makes you glad you have a bomber. It could pass for an IPA and the pineapple aspect doesn't make this a novelty, it really just adds to the flavor. Make it cheaper, make it cans, you'll get me to buy this again, and in bulk.
