On tap at the Spring house Taproom, the brew appears a hazed copper color with a white froth atop that slowly fades coating the entire glass with a wall of lacing effect.
The aromatics have a huge hoppy profile consisting of fruits like grapefruit and rindy pith. Some bright zesty inclusion like orange before blending into more of the typical herbal feel with a touch of grass/pine/catty element as it warms.
The flavor is oily and bitter. Hoppy fruit flavors like rinds/orange/grapefruit peel. A minor tropical fruity sweet alcohol feel with a warmth across the back but not exaggerated for 11%. Some hebal and grassy feel into the aftertaste.
This is a full bodied brew with a modest amount of carbonation. It is pretty nice and rindy/bitter. An impressive nose and imperial IPA all around but as it warms up, there is no hiding the aggressive alcohol. While a couple ounces is very enjoyable, I dont think I would enjoy a pint of this.
