I'm never been a big fan of fall/spiced/pumpkin ales until tis year. First it was the DFH version, then it was the South Street harvest Ale that really changed my mind.
Amber colored with a small (nay, microscopic) head. A thin tan toupee stuck around throughout the entire beer though. This beer was not highly carbonated, in fact it was more characteristic of a cask ale in its carbonation. The aroma was very similar to a standard brown ale, but with a hint (and I mean just a hint) of spiced pumpkin smell. The taste was unexpected...very little spiced pumpkin flavor. It was more of a seasoning (like salt and pepper to a steak) than a flavor. This is a good thing. The beer relies on the standard malt, hops, and yeast for flavor rather than "other" ingredients. It is rather tame as far as alcohol content is concerned, and a highly drinkable beer.
Serving type: on-tap
