This brew is a nice medium bodied ESB. The brewer jazzes it up with some cascades and golding hops. This makes for an exceptionally awesome beer. Nice malty overtones with Cascade hop aromas. The amber colored beer sat below a lacy thin head. The malt flavor played offset by the well balanced bitterness left you with a satisfied feeling, ready for another taste. The mouthfeel was of great depth in body and finished itself with a slight bitter bite bringing together a wonderful experiance. It doesn't get much better.

Pours a copper/amber color with that creamy cask poured head on it that left a nice lace. The aroma is very balance between the sweetness of the malt and a very nice mild hop bitterness. The taste starts off with some very creamy and smooth malt sweetness before going into the nice subtle bitter finish that english hops produce. I love the mouthfeel of cask beer, always so creamy and smooth and so very drinkable due to the low carbonation and exquisite smoothness. Finding a cask ale at South Street was such a lovely surprise and guaranteed that I will be back visitng this place again.

Update: Well the first time I had this was during their first run of the brew and they have since gotten much better at making it. The taste has become more complex with some great fruity esters in it. The mouthfeel has only gotten smoother and these combine to make the beer even more drinkable than it was previously

Cask-bier is always a treat. Another reason to like South Street! Dark copper, almost amber in color, this Ale had a thin, fine head, but minimal lace. Nose had mildly discernible hints of malt and hops.... Medium body, and nicely smooth feel. Has a nice malt start-up, with a smooth transition to hop-ville. These hops produce a pleasing bitterness, and there is a tasty cask/oak inspired flavor beneath it all. Cheers!
