Pours a clear amber/ruby color with noe head due to bad bartending. The aroma has a nice roastiness to it, but also has a pronounced american, piney/citrus hop aroma. There is also a nice toasty maltiness to the flavor but it is almost overwhelmed by the hoppiness of the brew. As the brew warms the hoppiness fades a bit but is very out of character for the märzen style. This brew has a pleasant medium body with a crisp hoppy bite that makes it rather drinkable. I was a bit dissappointed in this brew as I was expecting a true German Märzen and what I got was more of an american version. It wasn't a bad beer by any stretch of the imagination but just not what I was looking for.

From a growler, courtesy of dkachur - thanks! Poured into a tulip pint.
Appearance: A clear reddish amber brew, a deep, clean copper, transparent, with a foamy, fast-fading, uneven white head, very sparse, big-bubbled, and fast carbonation. No lacing.
Aroma: Sweet, relatively clean, light, crisp hops, not much complexity or dyanmics, but pleasant.
Taste: Bready, caramel malts, a good load of spicy, grassy hop notes. Nice balance, and overall very clean.
Mouthfeel: Minimal carbonation - probably the growler's fault - but the tastes lend a nice crispness. Medium thickness, low-to-medium body, a little prickly.
Drinkability: Not bad, but not great. A decent Oktoberfest, and one I'd gladly get again - support your local brewery!

A: Nice and reddish with some rusty amber highlights. A pretty nice looking pour. Head is short, white, fairly straight forward.
S + T: A straight forward, soft toasty malt with a little caramel sweetness to it. Taste is similar... toasted malt with a light hop touch.
M + D: A little low in carbonation, with a bit of a watery feel to it. Not too bad, but not really extraordinary.
