Great selection. Good staff. Went in for a 6 pack, walked out with a shopping cart full of discounted seasonals. They had red chair 6 packs for $5.99, almost half of what other stores were selling for. While I was there I saw the owners personally carryout a huge order for an older gentleman. Good peeps!

I love this place. It is one of my two go-to places when I am home (the other is and Friar Tuck). UFS has better prices than Friar Tuck, usually by a dollar or two. On the other hand, it isn't as nice and clean as FT. As far as selection between UFS and FT, it seems that the two usually have similar stuff in stock so you don't need to go to both places. However, you can buy more cases at UFS than FT. So, if you want to save a buck with a slightly smaller selection than FT, go to UFS and don't feel like you lost out on anything.

UFS has been a part of Peoria for many years. I have not lived in Peoria since I was child over 35 years ago. I grew up knowing UFS as the Unclaimed Freight store. I stop in for a look around some times when Im in town. There Liquor, Wine and especially the Beer selection has grown in the last several years. I really never paid much attention to the beer selection a few years ago. I was there three times in 2007 and one time recently so far this year. It is not unusual to see people with there carts loaded down with wine & beer. The beer wall is about 65 feet long give or take a few feet and four shelves high counting the floor. There are several beer islands of the larger 12 packs & cases mostly macros. Just one small cooler full of some six packs and mostly singles macros for the brown baggers. There are plenty of room temperature micros, domestics and imports on the shelves. Most of the seasonals are on the top two shelves. There are BA Shelf Talkers posted on some of them provided by the distributor Im told by the liquor dept. manager. If you are looking for glassware or a beer refrigerator they can fix you up there also. The people are friendly and helpful but not all of them are up on the beer knowledge. I spoke to Steve the Liquor Dept. Manager on my most recent visit and he was most helpful. Great place for the beginner who has limited budget! Like one BA member told me when I first joined BA, I cut my teeth on craft/micro and inport beers from UFS. I think if you are in the area or you havent been there before you should check it out or it has been a long time since your last visit you should give it another try. You might save a few bucks.
